Blown Call by Refs Cost DK Player $700k (1 Viewer)

Week 3 DK Millionaire Maker Results

1. ChipotleAddict 200.02 $1,200,000

2. ManOChild 199.44 $500,000

3. nawmsayin 199.32 $250,000

4. rsessions 199.12 $150,000

ManOChild was in first place until Seahawks DST gets credited with 2 points for a Def Fumble Recovery. I would still be okay with winning $500k on a single entry but that has to sting a little bit.

Also cost #3 $250k and #4 $100k

I wasn't watching DraftKings, but at both FanDuel and FantasyDraft, they initially credited the Seahawks with 2 points for the turnover, then a few minutes later they took the 2 points away under the theory that a touchback isn't a fumble recovery, then a few minutes after the game ended they gave the two points back to the Seahawks D.

I had about $700 riding on the outcome of that call (and it ultimately went the way I wanted) ... I can only imagine if it had been $700K instead.

And didn't go your way... oof, how that sucks for those guys.

Also pretty hard to call this a game of skill when something like an officiating error swings a million bucks. If, or should I say when, congress starts digging, issues like this are just fuel to the fire for labeling this gambling. Interesting times, and congrats on the $700.

Hes an online poker player. The first major win after the scandal is by an online poker player on a horrific blown call. Is there any possible way Congress doesnt view this as gambling?

I really hope this doesn't force seasonal fantasy to have to go underground as "degenerate gambling" to the general public.

DraftKings and Fanduel aren't giving fantasy football a very good name right now.

Think seasonal play will be fine, reputation-wise ... especially the local leagues with pre-Internet roots.

I wonder: of all the money that changes hands in seasonal FF ... how much of that is done informally (giving checks to commish at draft, payout checks in Dec/Jan) and how much is done online/via PayPal/etc.?

You need to drink more or move to Colorado or something zen.

You're going to have a heart attack or stroke at this rate

Nah, I dont smoke or drink. Ive just got a job that requires me to go from long periods of sitting at a computer to long times driving to the next job. Long down times combined with a naturally curious personality leads to overthinking things sometimes.

Not in this case though, every big win by a pro in the next few days is horrible PR.

I will win 700k to soothe your nerves! It's the least I could do.
