Don't need to be a homer to call that a good choice. Second most important Colt.
i agree this was the correct choice, & he is a bigger difference maker than all but a few NFL OFFENSIVE players...Good choice. Biggest difference maker on defense in the league today.
Was wondering how long it would take for a NE fan to find fault with this <_< Sanders IS the Indy defense... especially with Freeney out.Kearney has been great, but he's not driving the SEA defense.Big_Russ said:Most Valuable Player to the Colts defense? NO DOUBT. DPOY?? I would have a hard time not voting for Patrick Kerney of Seattle. He has been a MONSTER off the edge this year. Sanders is an excellent player though. Definitely the “glue” that holds the Colts Defense together.
And he took a while to get into gear. 2nd year DE Tapp was outplaying him for the first 3-4 games. I'm glad he was in the running (if you count 4 votes as in the running) and got as many votes as Haynesworth. But I just don't see how anyone but Sanders could be the man for this. Kerney's played extremely well and his efforts on Sunday was among the most monstrous I've seen a DE play. Having the runner up on your team and having 3 others joining him in HI is a big thumbsup for the Hawks D.Was wondering how long it would take for a NE fan to find fault with thisBig_Russ said:Most Valuable Player to the Colts defense? Wow bro. I don’t know how many times I have to repeat the same things to you, but I must have told you about 4 or 5 times now that I am not a New England Patriot fan. Do you seriously want to debate me in another thread? You couldn’t hold your own in the last one... so don’t bite off more than you can chew now Tommy. :(Was wondering how long it would take for a NE fan to find fault with this![]()
I dont know where I said otherwise. I was actually quite clear about crediting him for that.Sanders IS the Indy defense... especially with Freeney out.
It's "KERNEY". And I would respectfully disagree. He IS the driving force of that defense. He commands double teams on every snap. The DE who plays opposite of him (Tapp), racked up 7 “trickle down” sacks off of Kerney's play. The heart of that Hawks defense is their Pass Rush, and the heart of that Pass rush is Patrick Kerney. You know... It's convenient (and hilarious) how you use the "driving" force card when (you THINK) it better suits your position. Actually, consideration of stats fit much better into this discussion (when determining the offensive/Defensive POY). Your arguments here and in the Brady/Moss thread are pretty much backwards (not to mention hypocritical).Kearney has been great, but he's not driving the SEA defense.
I think you have me confused with someone else. I'm not Tommy, and you haven't been able to make a stand against me yet in the other thread.Wow bro. Spelling aside, Kerney is not driving that defense. And my argument is right in line with my Moss over Brady argument. Moss made that offense click, and half of Brady's passes would have been picks if Moss didn't make them something. As you could just do by reviewing history, take away Moss and Brady's numbers decline significantly. Same thing with taking away Sanders - Indy's D declines a ton.I dont know where I said otherwise. Wow, you are totally lost here my man. I'm not going to bring the Brady Moss argument into this thread. I'll leave it to the readers of that thread (who actually understand football) to decide how silly your debating sounds. That said... You are still confusing "VALUE" with "PRODUCTION", you are just doing it the opposite way around in this thread.I think you have me confused with someone else. No, value is inherently connected with production... that's what you fail to understand. G'nite. That said... You are still confusing "VALUE" with "PRODUCTION", you are just doing it the opposite way around (in this thread). I’m not going to waste time re-explaining the whole thing all over again. It's pointless.
Sanders didn't lead his team in tackling (one measure of production for a safety)... did that make him any "less valuable"?No, value is inherently connected with production...
