Boldin or Fitzgerald (1 Viewer)

Hopefully, this will end up being different than the current player spotlights.

I am of the opinion that Boldin will be the premier Wr this year, meaning he'll be the most feared Wr in football. He's strong, physical, gets separation out of his breaks. I think he'll have a year like Boston in '01 and Owens in '02.

I'm not saying he'll have the most catches, yards, or Tds (I believe Boston only led in yards in '01); but NFL-wise he'll have the most impactful catches, yards, and Tds.

Fantasy-wise, he should have a year like Boston's 2001 season or if he hits the ceiling, than Moss's 2003 season.

Tell me what you think. Tell me more about Boldin and educate me on Fitzgerald. Who does Fitzgerald compare to, how good/great is he? Who's better?

FYI...

2005:

Boldin

14 Games

102 rec

1402 yds

7 tds

Fitzgerald

16 Games

103 rec

1409 yds

10 tds

And yes, I think Leinart will do just fine, if called upon.

Thanks for all your insightful responses.

Coming from a guy that has Boldin in a keeper league and is very high on him I'll still say that Fitz is "more talented" and will always be the more consistent pick. I'm not saying that Boldin will or won't have a better season this year, anything can happen but for year in and out I'll go with Fitz. He is just one of those special players that will always gets theirs. Add in the fact that Boldin has been alittle injury prone as well. Fitz will be a touchdown machine, he runs good routes and Denny Green loves him. Again, I'm not saying it isn't possible for Boldin to outscore this year or next I'd just feel more comfortable with Fitz on my team than Boldin.

Randy Moss = Fitzgerald

Cris Carter = Boldin

Or at least that's a model I use to predict what Denny Green's Arizona offense will produce.

In any case, it appears to me that both will go at about the same spot, with Boldin coming slightly cheaper.

You cannot lose picking either of them. I think that we will still be asking the same question for the next three-five years. Both receivers serve important purpose in the offense. Both will get their targets. Fitz may get more red-zone looks. Neither has the elite deep route speed, yet Fitz will overpower most CBs with his size/timing/leaping ability. Boldin is the YAC master. Debating between the two is meaninglus. I am a Fitz dynasty owner and am very happy. I would also be excited about owning Boldin. I would probably lean towards Boldin if their were not the significant injury history.

If each plays injury free for the next five years, I give the edge to Boldin (by a hair).
