Boomerang Cuts (1 Viewer)

Just curious how many times a year you cut a player only to pick him up later?

Maybe even multiple times.

Why can't we quit certain players?

Only one I can think of this year is Kareem Hunt.

I drafted him thinking a team would grab him.

Dropped him in week 1 for I can’t remember.

Announced as signed after Chubb went down and picked him up again. He did very little first two weeks and then had a bye… so he was my first drop with the emergence of Ford.

Actually picked him up right after his bye as I think he was just the best looking upside, but didn’t hold much weight to it.

Then Ford went down and now I’m holding till further notice.

Unrelated, but I’m really lucky Ford decided to play last week. Because I was looking at a coin flip between Hunt and Gus Edwards, and Ford announcing he was playing pushed me toward Gus Edwards and won me my week.

I’d rather be lucky than good.

Two players stand out in my fantasy career of dropping and picking up. Rinse and repeat.

Josh Gordon. Even typing his name makes we curious if I can still roster him.

Odell Beckham Jr. I'll always see him as a Giant dominating. Unfortunately his body will never allow that.

Love you Josh!!!!

2023 Boomerangs for me:
  • Jayden Reed
  • Sean Tucker
  • Pat Freiermuth
  • Luke Musgrave
  • David Njoku
  • Jake Moody
  • Cleveland DST
I’m a little manic WRT the WW

In my league, once you cut a player you can't pick him up again. It makes you think a little more about dropping a player.
U can't ever pick them up again? Or like most, u can't pick up until after they clear waivers.
Never again. It's been like that for 30+ years. Requires more planning for DST and PK, the league has been 14 or 16 teams.
That's super interesting. Never even heard of this an option. Wow. Think I kinda like that. Would be better if it was for the year only. Not FOREVER. Ha ha. What website keeps track of that?

I've added Keaontay Ingram to my SFB redraft squad 3 times this year, once late in the draft, once right after Conner went down, and again just today with Demarcado out. Backup RB with a shot at starting when injuries thin out the competition.

I've cut Tyrion Davis-Price 3 times this year in one of my deeper dynasty leagues. Young guy with some draft pedigree has kept him near the top of best available FAs to grab when I have space with this league's depleted waivers, but also is very cuttable when I have someone I want to add given that he has done nothing & is buried on the depth chart.

Tutu Atwell I've added multiple times in a couple leagues over his career. Prime times for adding were at the start of his rookie year as a surprise 2nd rounder, late last year when he got a starting job, and around the start of this season when he started to get some hype. I don't think there's any league where I added him at all 3 of those times, but I have added him at 2 of those times in multiple leagues.

Forever in a season. Sorry.

I think this is such a cool rule. I'm gonna bring it up to league during off-season. Makes things interesting.

I've been left streaming TE's in one league after punting it in the draft and bombing on my Juwan Johnson pick. Anyone want to guess how many times I picked up and started Musgrave?

If you guessed every game he got hurt and left early in, then TELL EM WHAT THEY'VE WON, JOHNNY!!!

Managed to snag McBride before last week so hopefully my streaming days are over for a while.

@Soulfly3 still hasn’t cut Josh Gordon.

I'd be a fool to even consider it.

Welcome back to my dynasty team Mr. Tykevious Chandler, have only cut and re-added you about a billion times dating back to last season!

You know, I only play dynasty, I've been in the league for 14 years, solo owner for 11 years, and I can't think of any guy I've picked up more than maybe twice .... but it's been a long time ... may not be thinking hard enough.

In dynasty I keep stashing Penny and then dropping him. Can't quit the idea of him getting a start behind that line in December.

Dowdle....Mitchell....some cases Mike White....guys like that...

For me this happens a lot....usually before every Thursday game and then Sunday mornings I look at my rosters and cut a lot of guys that I know I am not going to play and look to pick up potential homeruns like Dowdle or Elijah Mitchell, just in case something happens to the guy in front of them.....then I don't have to battle for them on the WW....then the next WW run, I drop Dowdle and Mitchell and either try to pick up the guys I dropped (cause I might play them now) or the flavor of the week off the WW.....then rinse and repeat before the games again picking guys like Dowdle and Mitchell up again....obviously it depends on "who" the other guys are and bye weeks, etc.....but I like snagging potential league winners at the last minute when possible....

Just picked up Beckham Jr. Again. Smh

Daulton Schultz and Kincaid for me this year. Drafted both, overreacted to bad weeks, and suffered short lived flings chasing points with Musgrave, Hunter Henry, Logan Thomas.

Im on my 4th itteration of cole kmet and I have had josh reynolds 3 times (and wouldnt bat an eyelash before picking him up a 4th time with an injury to St Brown.) The other fun part is I have spent 61/200 faab on these 2 and another 12 on friermuth who I never used before dropping him when injured. Im a real wiz at wasting faab !!!!
