Boston Guys- best bar before Sox game (1 Viewer)

We'll be there in a couple of weeks. Going to a Tues nite Sox/Tigers game. When I go to Ray's games here I go to Ferg's before the game, it is right across the street from the Trop and everyone does the 100 meter mosey 10 minutes before first pitch. I've been to Wrigley and went to Cubby Bears before the game and it was pretty much the same thing.

Where should we pre-game fuel up before first pitch?

I’ll add though as a local, Eastern Standard around the corner on Comm Ave is where I go. More upscale, good beer selection and excellent food.

Cheers.  It's a local pub.  Everyone will know your name there.  Ask for the Screaming Viking. YWIA.
I'll lol as I walk by the stupid Cheers facade at Quincy Mkt. I've done my research here.

I did just look at the Lower Depths website...interesting faq.

As a Boston outsider...I've been there 4 times.....but don't remember many of the bars.  I think I remember the Cask N Flagon. I think that's near an area where you're walking over a highway.  There was a bar near the front entrance we were drinking at when a friend of mine had to poop.  I remember the stalls not having doors and him hovering there, pooping with a beer in one hand and covering his junk with the other while people were looking in laughing.  There was as big bar out near the Green Monster/Centerfield.  I think it had two floors.

Center City....we just followed the Paul Revere line and would stop in at bars on that route.  There was a pretty good, blue collar Irish bar near that Park area....there was a bar that could only fit like 15 people in it.  There was a bar with these big marquee lights....it was really lit up outside.  I remember the Bell in Hand because a couple of us got thrown out and we climbed back in thru a window......plue there was a bar near there called The Dragon or something like that. I think we got kicked out of that one too.

Lot of bars.....people were pretty cool.

There are dozens of bars in close proximity to the park, I’m not a huge fan of any of them but no are really that bad. Just find one that isn’t overly crowded.

As an aside, I took my 9 year old son to a game yesterday and figured it cost me roughly $600. Good seats at face value were $300, another $60 to park. $85 for a JD Martinez jersey and a ton of money on drinks, food, etc.  Crazy.

Clask and Beer Works were a bit of a cluster. We migrated over to Bleacher and got great service and a good view for the first few innings before making our way to our seats.

If you don’t mind getting shanked you could try the old Who’s On First (I don’t even remember what it’s called now), but the main door actually is inside the turnstiles on Jersey Street (formerly Yawkey Way) now.

Is that ####ty Game On place still open?

Talk about a place that doesnt fit the vibe of the neighborhood....

Timely thread, I'm flying in with a buddy to catch the 7/9 game vs. the Rangers.  Will probably be hitting many of these bars.

I've been to Cask before, but never been to the Bleacher Bar.  Looks like a great spot if you don't have tickets to the game.

I hung at Yard House for opening day.  It's the same as it is everywhere.  Eastern Standard or Island Creek (oysters at either) would be my first choice if price was no issue but def more of a pink hat crowd (ie mature).  Have never been to Bleacher Bar but that's certainly an experience worth pursuing.  Lower Depths is where we tend to end up after the game but they don't serve that mac n cheese hotdog anymore.    gllll peas.
