For those of us in auction leagues, I'm looking for the cheap guys who have a chance to contribute.

For the purposes of these discussions, assume that, for whatever reason, you are drafting one of these guys as a starter in either your SS or 2B/SS slot.

Write in candidates welcome, but remember that these are supposed to be super cheap guys that you can get for $1 or so at the end of the auction.

This one is tough because production is heavily based on uncertain playing time. I voted for Ryan since he has a little pop but if he only gets 10 ABs/week, he's the wrong answer.

Yuniesky Betancourt should be pretty cheap. Full-time job, plus might be moved to the #2 spot in the line-up.
I was looking for him and Asdrubal Cabrera deep in my 16 teamer, but they were swiped up 7 and 4 picks before me, respectively. I have settled for Alex Gonzalez who I prefer to all of the players above. If those are your best options though I would go with Wilson. If Brandon Wood's available I'd take a shot on him too, he doesn't have SS eligibility yet, but he's in competition with Erick Aybar for the spot and would have eligibility quickly if he wins the job. Classic low risk/high reward player.

Brent Lillibridge of ATL is another SS sleeper possibility with SB and HR potential.
Isn't that job all but guaranteed to Escobar? I doubt Lillibridge is going to see enough playing time to warrant a starting role.

I'm not sure how many teams are in your league, but if the answer is less than 16, there are better options. Most of those guys I wouldn't even reserve.

True, but some of the guys in the poll (e.g. Ryan, Uribe) aren't opening day starters either. I don't think any of the choices are draftable in a 12 team NL or AL league.
