The Boy Scouts national council has lifted the ban on gay leadership. It will now be left to the local chapters to do as they will. There was no way to sustain the ban in the face of this sea change of opinion on homosexuality. Apparently Robert Gates really pushed for the change.

Well locals can do what they want. But national couldn't sustain the ban once the lawsuits started and they were coming.

As a Christian, I have no problem with this.

Pretty much the only position I'd have a problem with a gay person holding would be a church pastor or other pastoral staff position since adherence to Biblical standards should apply there. Outside of that, I don't see why a gay person couldn't be or do anything else.
