Brad Hawpe (1 Viewer)

Right now he's owned in 100% of four-letter leagues. Is he dropable? I realize he's nothing super special, but to the wire for the likes of Milton Bradley or Emil Brown? Anyone?

Emil Brown? You're funny.

Milton Bradley? Depends how desparate you are, Bradley's a risk/reward pick, Hawpe's safe. As long as Bradley is healthy he's an upgrade over Hawpe. that's a big "if" though.

I've never been too high on Hawpe and thought he was way over valued pre-season but outright drop him? No chance of you being able to deal him? Not for anything?

We'll see but I doubt it. I mean, would you take him?

No, but again, I had little-to-no interest in him before the season. I saw 07 as his career year. I believe I had him ranked somewhere around OF40 just ahead of Andruw Jones and Jack Cust. It'd be better to get an opinion from someone that drafted him or had him on their radar pre-season.

i'm a believer. i still consider him a top 30 OF. i wouldn't drop him or trade him for much less than i invested. maybe bench him against lefties until he heats up. even if he has a down year, he should still get at least 20-80, which is serviceable in pretty much all formats (and more than what emil brown and milton bradley can be expected to get).

Dealt him str8 up for Uggla a couple weeks back.

Both were in a funk. I just like Uggla to produce more than Hawpe (and at a weaker hitting pos.).

I drafted Hawpe and I expected better returns that what I am getting now. My concern is, did I miss the mark in predicting his emergence to 2007 form. My inclination is to just hang on to him since I have lasted this long with his slump and ride with him until he gets back on track. The problem - he is really hurting my team average and not getting me any other category either. Some of the OF's I have to choose from on the ww would be the likes of Ankiel, Andruw Jones, Jose Guillen, Emil Brown, etc. So there are "acceptable" replacements that I have to choose from but I would hate to just outright dump him if he is going to turn it around. I guess bottomline is that I am still sticking with him but my patience is growing wary.

Ankiel > Hawpe, if you can handle the likely mediocre batting avg
Unfortunately I cannot. But Hawpe is contributing to my teams less than stellar average anyways. I can appreciate your preseason feelings on Hawpe, but do you actually think what we are seeing is where he is really going to be at? I'm not sure myself, but it's the forecast opinion that I'd be in favor of hearing.

Somewhere in between 2007 and April 2008. His avg with RISP in 07 did not line up with previous seasons, he was due for some regression. I don't have projections with me at work, but off the top of my head I believe I had him down for285/75/22/90/0Compared with Ankiel who I had at roughly260/85/30/95/0 - I projected him to be hitting 5th though. I haven't been paying full attention as I don't own him anywhere but I believe he has been regularly batting either before or after Pujols in which case his all of his cats receive a small boost. Something like270/90/33/100/0That's why I now prefer Ankiel to Hawpe, they were relatively close before anyway...just had an ADP differential of 100+.

All right, under those stats I would definitely agree with you on the value as it compares to Ankiel > Hawpe. If others are more inline with this type of thinking, then I certainly over shot Hawpe's projections a little (292/77/27/102/3).
