Brady Quinn (1 Viewer)

Anyone have any inside information on when the Browns are giving up on this debacle w/ Anderson? He just threw the ball up for grabs last year and did decent until the league caught up with him.

How much did Anderson get paid? How much guaranteed? What role is $$ playing in all of this? Quinn is making big $$ too.

Could it be that Quinn doesn't look ready and the Browns don't want to embarrass themselves on both fronts?

I don't claim to have any insider knowledge here, but I think it's pretty universally thought that Anderson's offense has helped him about as much as he's helped them. And I'm sure there's a healthy fear there of inserting Quinn just in time to be the captain of the Titanic.

FWIW, I wouldn't be surprised if the Browns offense raises a few eyebrows (in a good way) tonight against the Giants.

I agree with Fantasy Trader. I have the same feeling that the Browns at home tonight are a good play. Just take a look at some of yesterdays games with underdogs playing well.

If Anderson really struggles tonight (which he probably will), I can see them bringing in Quinn if they trail by 10 or more points at the half.

Without Winslow and against that pass rush I doubt it. I would think the Giants are using yesterday as an example ... plus they already had one close call letdown vs Cinci so they may have already learned their lesson

Tonight just seems like one of those "when you least expect it" kind of games. Everything is set up for Anderson to have a terrible game, and no one in their right mind would give Cleveland (or Anderson) a chance to do anything.

Then watch Anderson throw for 275/2/1 and make a game of it.

Agreed. Just a gut feeling. The Browns haven't had a home game for a month and are coming off a bye. I'm no Browns fan and this statement is going to make me sound like one - but the Dawg Pound is going to be rocking (at least until Eli's first bomb to Plax - lol). Just a hunch that this one's set up for the Giants to see a different Cleveland team than anyone else has seen this year.

Personally, I think you've both had a few too many...a few too early. But, I'll drink to Edwards showing some signs of life...would make that 2nd rounder less of a blunder than it's been thus far.

So because some favorites lost yesterday, The Browns have a better chance of winning today?

As Living in Cleveland. Im very suprised they have not put Quinn in yet. I have not been happy with Anderson as our starter. I own Quinn in my roster because i feel he should be their starter. If he does, he has weapons to make my QB situation great.

Quinn gets in today as DA sucks ###

Put it in the Books

I've been thinking the same eery thing today. Also wondering if Braylon is going to explode back onto the scene with 150 yards and three TDs in a huge shootout that has the Browns coming up just a touch short but showing all sorts of new life. :goodposting:

Does halfway through a MNF game -- against the defending SB champs and arguably the best team in football -- really sound like the best conditions for your first NFL experience at QB?

The Browns are a huge underdog, at home, off a bye week, on national television. If they can't look respectable with all of those things factored in, I don't know if they ever will. I for one think they're going to keep it close. Either Anderson is going to have a decent enough game, or Quinn will be inserted early and will have one of the hot hands that QBs who know the system often have early on starting. Usually because the opposing teams didn't do too much to game plan against them.

Just talked to my buddy who is a Browns fan from Ohio. He said that the local talk is that the players have all lost confidence in Anderson and have been asking Crennel to put Quinn in. But Crennel refuses to budge even though the front office and players want Quinn. Apparently the source of the info about the current players is coming from some former players that are still in contact with the current guys.

My bet is that if the Browns get embarassed tonight, Crennel gets fired this week and Quinn is the new starting QB.

No...but Romo didn't do too bad in that position.

why only 3?

FYI - Brady Quinn took zero snaps with the 1st team offense this week, interpret that howevewr you wish...

Anderson is pretty much the same QB he was last year. Maybe even a little better if you can believe that. Edwards drops, injuries, and no underneath WR to open up the deep throws has killed this offense and I don't see much changing this year.

Just making a reference to the upsets yesterday and the Giants getting trapped in this game tonight. Cleveland off of the bye at home Giants non conference game -This game means more to the Browns and the ebb and flow of the schedule makes for a far more competitve game than would appear on paper.

Amazing to me how much misinformation is posted these days. :goodposting: Remember when the Shark Pool was actually populated by more sharks than guppies?

Speaking as a guppy, it is because a lot of guppies forget they are guppies and should be reading more and posting less in the Pool...I will now shut up and go back to reading the other threads and posting occasionally in the FFA :goodposting:
