Absolutely, it's just so many have scoffed at the notion he wears down a defense and/or insult him like he's just a big clutz or somesuch.

Jacobs doesn't get his due.

He is excellent at his role and almost 6 ypc is phenomenal for him. Did you notice how many are drooling over Charles' 6 ypc and ignoring Jacobs? Meanwhile Charles is speed guy and Jacobs is a brute.

Giants have a very good OL and they deserve plenty of credit too.

Meggett was a perfect 3rd down back and Jacobs is the perfect beast back. They're not going into any HOF or anything but they're integral to their team's success.

I feel like there are less and less role playing RBs in the NFL creating a jack of all trades master of none scenario.

His ypc isn't "almost" 6, and Charles' is significantly higher (and on far more attempts). The numbers really aren't that close.Jacobs isn't terrible, but he isn't nearly as good at short yardage or "wearing down the defense" as most people assume he is just because he's big.

My problem is Jacobs isn't great at the big back stuff he should be, I don't think he's any better at getting 3 yards at the goalline than Bradshaw is. I want Jacobs to be like Bettis or Okoye, he seems to have better physical ability than those two but it doesn't show on the field.

Are we talking fantasy or real life? Fantasy, I wouldn't compare Jacobs to Charles because one is on his way out & the other is just starting out. besides 2008 Jacobs has been a fantasy owner frustrater, never really getting the consistent touches or the goal-line production one would expect from such a big guy. He's a RB3 in fantasy football, about where most people draft him.

Because it's 5.6, not 5.8. Regardless, he only had 147 carries vs. 230 for Charles to go along with his 6.4 ypc. The reason people are much more impressed with Charles is because, well, he's much more impressive.

Charles is better. More explosive, faster, quicker.That said, 5.6 YPC is an excellent number, 3rd in the league behind Vick and Charles. And 150 carries is a plenty big sample size to say that the 5.6 is a legit number.Obviously Jacobs isn't an elite runner like some of the top guys in the league right now, but he's a very good football player and I do think he gets over looked a little more than he should.
