Ok, i drafted Jacobs in the 2nd round and now I wondering why I did??? The Giants have really let me down by putting Jacobs on committee and not throwing to him very much. Does the board think this will continue over the rest of the season? or Will the Giants get it together and realize Jacobs needs 20-25 touches a game? I'm almost to the point of trading Jacobs for Forte.

Any input would be greatly appreciated, help me i'll help you

Here is an existing thread, 8 pages long & still going, all about Jacobs.

Some flaming & obvious fishing going on in that thread, but filter the garbage out & you'll find genuine nuggets of valid info from many posters here with thoughts, opinions & analysis relating exactly to your very question.

Brandon Jacobs will be a stud this year

As a Tiki Barber owner a few years ago, I see lots of similarities. Barber was always that 1st or 2nd round pick that never lived up to his projections. Until his last year, that is.

Same with Jacobs - so maybe it's the system. As a Jacob's owner, I'm hoping for more touches too.

I have Jacobs in one league to and yes the NYG are using him very poorly!! The fact is the NFL could care less about the Fantasy Sports world and if they can get more now out of using Ward/Bradshaw/and Jacobs, than thats how they will do it!! Maybe its a way to save him for the NFL playoffs?? But he will probably hurt you in Fantasy Playoffs?? Im not a big believer anymore myself and have also been shopping him! He can still be a stud, but only if the NYG use him as such!If you can get Forte for him I would do it.

I own him this year. I grabbed him in the 3rd round of a 10-man redraft.

I'll be honest... The G-Men offense looks much better when Ward and Bradshaw are in. I am getting a little concerned.

I have Ward in two leagues and Jacobs in one. Ward is a nice plug in. And I kind of hope that he gets injured so that I can start Ward in both leagues. He seems like he'd be better for points each week over Jacobs as the starter.

Barber seemed to do pretty well in my book. He ranked in the Top 15 RBs his last 7 seasons in a row including ranking in the Top 10 four of the last 5 years he played. As for Jacobs, he's averaged 103 yards from scrimmage and 0.5 TD per game between last year and this year. He's had either 100 yfs or a TD in 11 of the 14 games he's played in. Not sure why people would be disappointed in that.

As a Giants fan, I think what you have seen from Jacobs so far is about what you will see going forward.

The bottom line is that the Giants aren't afraid to pull Jacobs for whole series if they feel like Ward is running better. And since Ward is a good runner (better then most people realize), it seems really reasonable to me that he will steal carries from Jacobs.

The Giants feel like they have 3 RBs in Jacobs, Ward and Bradshaw that are RB1 type material. They really seem to have no problem throwing Ward out there instead of Jacobs if they feel like he is having more success.

I'm sure Jacobs will have some good games - when he gets hot the Giants will have no problem leaving him in. He'll get more carries then Ward will, I think, most games. He's probably a low end number 1 type, at this point.

I wouldn't panic with him. He's still going to get the majority of the carries in a run first, quality offense. But you probably have to adjust your expectations for him given the situation he is playing in.

Aren't we all... As suggested, check the BJ thread for more info than you'll want to read.

i just need help at RB, LT hasn't done much so far and I was counting on Tom to let Jacobs run loose. i really really want to make the trade for Forte, but my confidence in a rookie making it through the year as strong as he started is hard for me to believe

Haven't the Giants run a RBBC for a long time, especially in terms of Jacobs? I don't know why that would have changed this year. He hasn't been injured yet...you are way ahead of the game.

I guess what sits in my memory banks is his his 2 rushing TDs in '03, 5 in '06. It was probably '03 that I had him on my team and my impression of him is permanently tainted.

Jacobs is a good RB no doubt, but I feel that Bradshaw is better & will eventually get the job
Bradshaw is currently third on the pecking order, so he'd have to leap frog both Jacobs and Ward.

If you drafted well enough to end up with a Forte, R Brown, Johnathan Stewart or even Lendale White it the latter mid rounds I'd recommend trading Jacobs NOW.

I think 60-90 and 9 TD's is all we're going to see out of him. Bradshaw and Ward are also talented so there's really no need to run him into the ground. I grabbed him at the top of the 4th round and dished him and Megatron for McNabb and Wayne and feel pretty good about it.

SELL-HIM-NOW

Game 1: 21 Carries for 116 yds, 5.5+ YPC

Game 2: 15 for 93, 6.2 YPC

Game 3: 14 for 35 w/ 1 TD

Besides the last game where Cinny stacked the Box and the GMen didn't do BJ any favors by not attempting any long passes until the 4th Q; I thought BJ has looked really good in games 1 & 2. Hes riding a 4.88 YPC right now.

Hey, if your unhappy w/ BJ... and play in a league w/ me, send me an offer.

:hifive:Spot on. Totally agree with you. On another note - usually if a guy is in a contract year, it would bode well for his fantasy numbers. In this case, maybe it works against Jacobs. Through the liberal use of Ward and Bradshaw, Coughlin and the Jints brass increase the likelihood that Jacobs stays healthy and productive and as a bonus they neuter his ceiling and make the upcoming off-season negotiation a little less painful.
