Brandon Lloyd - time to bench him (1 Viewer)

Breaston had a TD pass thrown a little behind him and off his hands. Might be going with his chances with Orton vs OAK.

In another league I'm going with Spiller this time, missed out last week.

On my bench this week again. Last week I decided between MWilliams TB, Nate washington and Lloyd as my WR2 and chose Williams, who was a 0, but ended up winning by 3 points!

So now in the superbowl and my options are the same. Rolling with either Washington or Moss as WR2, and have to decide on a flex (Lloyd, SJax, DMoore). Even though I hate the matchup, gonna go with SJax as a flex probably. Lloyd seems like an even riskier play this week, though I will admit Clemens looked okay considering last week.

For those who benched him, it depends how your risk/reward panned out. For me, all my other options -- Donald Brown, Peyton Hillis and even Kahlil Bell would have outperformed him
I would have won, had I started Lloyd over TB Mike Williams.Lloyd did about what I expected, which wasn't much in non-PPR.Meh. Was the right move, with terrible outcome.

apparently he is also sick. Missing a Tue practice (but coming back wed) fwiw

Brandon Lloyd, WR STL

News: Rams WR Brandon Lloyd returned to practice Wednesday after sitting out Tuesday due to an illness. He is expected to play Week 16 against the Steelers. Newcomer Kellen Clemens is expected to start at quarterback over the injured Sam Bradford (ankle) again. Pittsburgh enters Saturday ranked first in the league in pass defense, giving up under 180 yards per game, and has limited opposing wideouts to an average of 14.3 Fantasy points per week.

Analysis:

Lloyd is having nowhere near the campaign he did a year ago, but has seen his numbers improve since coming over form the Broncos. That said, his best performances have come with Bradford at the helm, as Clemens is still not up to speed. Add to the fact that the Steelers have been dominant against the pass thus far, Lloyd is not shaping up as a reliable Fantasy option for Week 16. Consider Lloyd as more of a No. 4 WR or flex option on Saturday.

 not liking that he's missing reps with Clemens this week

FWIW they are without Pettis (+ 4 PEDS/adderall)
Missing practice doesn't sway me -- he was ill, and he's back to practice. This is what IV bags are for.Missing reps with Clemens doesn't sway me -- for all the chatter last week, Clemens actually looked poised and did comparatively well under center last week.

Missing Pettis almost sways me -- this naturally means more targets to Lloyd, but it also means more attention can be placed on locking him up in bracket or aggressive zone coverage.

It's all of these rolled together with the sour matchup that sways me -- my gut tells me again that Lloyd is going to net at least 5/40 (7+ points in my scoring, ~5 in most PPRs) and potentially have a solid game.

But I'm going with other options with better upside for the flex, such as Nate Washington, possibly Sammy Morris or even Hillis.
