Brandon Lloyd (1 Viewer)

He's second in WR receiving yards to Austin Collie. Is he the one to own in Denver? I'm suprised he's still available in many leagues.

Lloyd has indeed looked good, but the problem is he's done this before both in San Francisco and Chicago.

That is, had a brief stretch of strong games where he looks very good and makes highlight reel catches, then rapidly tails off big time and/or gets hurt.

He's definitely worth picking up, but I wouldn't get my expectations too high.

As Demaryius Thomas gets more action, it's going to be some of Lloyd's time he's cutting into. I do like Lloyd & would roster him, but I think he's the 3rd best Denver WR to own.

I have him on one team where my other underperforming players require me to make more high risk / high reward kinds of decisions in a couple of spots. Therefore, I'll be starting him at #3 WR. I don't think he's disappeared from a game yet and his downside is comparable to my other #3 WRs. There may be others in the same plight at #3 WR.

Agree with this. Broncos looked to Thomas at least twice in the end zone last week, and this was only his second game.If Thomas can stay healthy I think he will eat into someone's catches more and more as the season moves on. If you haven't watched him play yet check him out, dude's a freak.

Both Lloyd and Gaffney available...gaffney was dropped.....whos the better guy to own out of those?

 Lloyd might be a solid WR for the next few weeks, but as Thomas gets worked into the mix, he also is the deep threat and will likely start eating away at Llyod's looks. Gaf is what he is. I'd prefer Thomas for late season upside and Llyod for big-game possibility, especially in the near future.

I have seen this movie many times. I am staying away from Lloyd.

Gaf is the play imo between those 2.

don't forget he was in Washington. he copped an attitude with the Redskins staff and they booted him before he did anything much.

Good call - he was there for such a short time that I totally forgot about it.

been wondering about this. Gaffney has 17 receptions this season, solid numbers in PPR leagues granted 12 of those came in the last game, on 26 targets (that's as much as Desean Jackson), . That's a 65% reception %Eddie Royal has 17 catches as well on 24 targets (70%)Brandon Lloyd on the other hand, has 14 catches on 22 targets (63%), but more yards and scores,Demaryius Thomas has 10 catches on 15 targets (66%).Seems like Orton is airing it out pretty well this season (66% for 360 yards per game) although part of me is still waiting for him to hit a wall though (ever get that feeling you've been through this situation with a player before?). He hasnt faced tremendous passing D's so far though bust aside from the Jets in week 6, the schedule looks pretty smooth.Everyone is really bullish on Thomas but he's still trailing the other 3 in looks and catches. Is this a free-for-all situation like in Houston and Indy?I might take a flier on Gaffney and pick him up although i cant stay I would start him with any confidence whatsoever...

Thomas didn't play week 1. He only played about 1/3 of Week 2 & caught 8 balls. He caught 2 for 43 in Week 3, only playing a few series. He's being brought along slow, but will dominate the targets possibly as early as this week.

I think another poster pretty much nailed it earlier when he compared Denver's offense to New Orlean's offense. On any given week, any of their top 4 WR's--Royal, Gaffney, Lloyd, Thomas--could blow up. I expect that Royal will be the most consistent, but Lloyd and Thomas have higher ceilings on a week to week basis. Also, as others have said, as they start to work Thomas in more and more, Lloyd probably won't see as many looks. But, the way he's playing now, it would be silly to phase completely phase him out.

Yeah and he has been quoted saying they were his red shirt years LOL

This is what folks were saying about Brandon Lloyd at the end of September, 2010.

He was a pickup, and ended up being the #1 Fantasy WR in many scoring systems that year.

I don't get it.

Who are you alluding to? Eddie Royal? Nobody?

Anybody who gets dismissed out of hand, basically.

But the Eddie Royal discussion probably brought this to mind more than anything.
