Brandon Marshall 3 Game Suspension - NFL Network (1 Viewer)

I thought 4 would have been a fair number for Marshall considering how many incidents he has had. If Ratface is smart he will have Marshall living at his house the rest of the season to make sure he avoids anymore indiscretions.

I still think Goodell has a power trip going on, there should be a panel of retired players or something like that that votes on suspensions / punishment for players, not one man acting as judge and jury and changing it per person based on his own "feeling" in a face to face talk. just mho

On a positive note, for owners of Marshall, these are the 2 games you would want him to miss. Last year he had 0 Td's and 0 100 yards games against SD and Oak. He was consistently at 7-75 but SD and Oak have good DB's. You can run all day on Oakland and that is probably what they will do with or without Marshall. Against SD, Cromartie will probably be all over Marshall if not Jammer.

LOL at Goodall's reputation as being harsh, he's been extremely soft on the players.Marshall should have gotten 8 games minimum, but Mr. Softy Goodall doesn't have the stones to lay down any meaningful suspensions.
Only if it invovles the patriots or gets his weaselly face in the limelight...Guy is a scumbag.
 Complete travesty that a guy can have restraining orders against him by half the woman in Colorado + have the cops as regular visitors to his house and he gets a little slap on the wrist from Commish Softy. There is no way he should have gotten off with less then 4 games, and 8 was far more appropriate.
Yea. He should have just ran someone over with a vehicle and fled the scene. He would have gotten off free of charge!

:lmao: 1 person acting as judge, jury, and executioner is wrong for any form of governing body. It is wrong (the system, not the suspension) and I agree with RavensUNFL that the NFL should have some sort of comittee to deal with rule or conduct violations.

good point  I think getting Marshall in the late 4th may still be value..

Possibly. You have to remember he's not a rocket scientist and it could happen where the cops come knocking anytime now for any new laws he breaks. Last I heard he's still hanging out with his long time girlfriend. Tick Tock, Tick Tock

Well moderated, that's the complete opposite of what I've heard. Do you have any links to support that claim?

Marshall to appeal suspension

Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall will appeal the three-game suspension officially imposed by commissioner Roger Goodell yesterday.
"There's no basis for discipline," Marshall's lawyer, Harvey Steinberg, argued during an interview with The Associated Press on Tuesday night. "Mr. Marshall has not been convicted nor charged with a crime."
Is this just standard procedure? I have trouble believing the Commissioner will reconsider his decision.

No, honestly I don't. I'm just going with what I've heard on TV and radio. I honestly don't know if he's hanging with his that girl or not. Last I heard she was out of the picture. I was just thinking you heard something different, and maybe you had a link.

DEN - WR Marshall Files Appeal

Source: Mike Klis, Denver Post

Brandon Marshall formally appealed his three-game suspension Thursday to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, according to a league source.

Goodell had found the Broncos' receiver in violation of the league's personal conduct policy. An appeal hearing has not been set, although it's expected before the season-opening week.

Appeal aside, Goodell said he would consider reducing the suspension to two games if Marshall met certain conditions.

I said it the other day and I'll say it here - Brandon, let it go. Get your butt into counseling that the commissioner suggested and reduce your penalty from 3 games to 2 and be thankful that's all you received. Focus on football, not appealing a punishment that could have been much worse. It's things like this that make me think this guy truly doesn't "get it".
I couldn't agree more.

I couldn't disagree more. Why everyone is so hellbent on pegging Marshall to a cross is perplexing to me. The moral police around here screaming for 8 game suspensions are silly and irrational. Brandon Marshall is 24 years old. He is a kid. So what if he fell through a glass table and so what if he got a DUI. I got on one too when i was in college, but i'm not a bad person. As for the thing with his ex-girlfriend, seriously, nobody really knows what happened there. She could be a total liar or she could be telling 100% truth. Her character has never been put under a microscope, so it is tough to judge. Yes, he has got into some mischief, but everyone needs to chill with their opinions on this kid.

i tried this argument with pops when i was 24. didn't work.
seriously, 24 years of age is young. The things he has been in trouble for are not so serious as to warrant some of the bashing on this board. Honestly, It is comical to read some of the opinions of the contributors to this forum. All saints around here. Not everybody is at the same maturity level. It occurs at different ages for everybody. Marshall came into fame very quickly and he is having some growing pains.I'm not saying he isn't a knucklehead right now, but this kid has done some little things to show he does want to change. Staying with Cutler during the suspension and bringing Rod along with him as a mentor are two examples....I believe in this kid. I wish some people would just give him a little time to prove he can grow up.

Is this a situation where the NFLPA would force the player to go though the appeals process? If it is, then Marshall doesn't have much say in if an appeal is filed or not.

I have seen a couple of sources that mention that Marshall has a three game suspension. I know that the suspension could be reduced to two games if he went forward with

counseling. Has anyone seen any reports as to whether Marshall is following through on that so that his suspension will be reduced?

There's a big difference between a two and a three game suspension and I haven't been able to find anything that addresses which it will be.
