Brandon Marshall (1 Viewer)

Brandon Marshall was OK the first two weeks, but not what I was hoping for when I drafted him as my WR1. In the third week, though, he lived up to the billing. It was the first time I was able to watch Miami this year and I was excited about how many targets he gets, and how skilled he looks. I realize that if Revis had played, it might have been different, but since there aren't too many Revises in the NFL, there is reason to be optimistic.

So what does the Shark Pool think? I would especially like to hear from Miami homers. Is week 3 indicative of what we can expect from now on? Or was it a one week wonder? What's your take?

A one week wonder? The guy has three consecutive 100+ catch seasons.

He's one of the top 5 weekly starts at WR in all formats.

Not sure... Miami's got a pretty tough schedule. If guys like Bess and Hartline continue to make plays, it will help open things up.

:) One click on his name in any league should tell you all you need to know about his FF worth. The original post was more guppy than shark pool.

OK, obviously the OP came out wrong.I KNOW Marshall is a WR1. But the first two weeks he performed below expectations. Do you guys think he will be top 3 for the rest of the year? Top 5? Top 10? What do you project for him?

He will finish in the top 10. I say 7-10 range. He is on a run first team, and Henne worries me at times. But no denying his skillset and run after the catch ability.

:goodposting: This thread is ridiculous. If it weren't started by timscochet I'd think the OP was on a lame fishing trip. Players are streaky, no matter how elite they are. He was ranked as a top 10 wr before last week and I see no reason he shouldn't still be ranked there.

Weird question but I'll try. Marshall was most likely drafted in the 3rd round. Probably about the 7th or 8th WR. His 1st 2 weeks weren't much but he blew up in the 3rd game on a new team. So as a Marshall owner - I'm extremely happy with his 3rd game. & it was against the Jets to boot. I think Marshall is a stud & will most likely be a top 10 WR with top 5 potential that I got in the 3rd round. So far - I like it.

Revis didn't play. That helped.

New England homer here...

I would expect Marshall to put up another monster game this week vs. the New England (and I'll use this term loosley) defense...

No one can cover him, no one will rush Henne. The Pats are actually decent against the run and I see the Phins chucking it all over the field, with Marshall getting the most benefit.

May not be as big as last week, but can't imagine he will disappoint...

That's the nature of the WR position. Even the best WR is going to have some of those 2 for 28 and 3 for 40 weeks over the course of a season. 70 receptions for 1200 yards is considered a very good season for a WR. That only equates to about 4 catches and 75 yards per game. If you're expecting 6 catches for 100 yards every week, you're going to be disappointed more often than not.

I think Austin put up numbers like that last week. So it will happen.
