Browns | Edwards confident against Panthers' Gamble

Published Sat Oct 7 3:10:00 p.m. ET 2006

(KFFL) Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports Cleveland Browns WR Braylon Edwards is planning to humiliate Carolina Panthers CB Chris Gamble during the Week 5 game. The Michigan receiver caught seven passes for 130 yards and two touchdowns against Gamble, a cornerback with Ohio State, the last time they played against each other in 2003. Edwards also caught an 87-yard touchdown pass that was nullified by a holding call. The two came to blows in the first half of the game and Edwards drew Gamble into a personal foul penalty. "I destroyed Gamble every time I played him. If he happens to match up on me, I'll treat him just like I treat anybody else - I'm going to try and destroy him. I know Chris Gamble like the back of my hand. They matched him up on me both years and I know him probably better than anybody in this league," said Edwards.

I'd rather Braylon worry about clutch passes late in the game hitting him in the chest.

 I generally don't applaud trash talk, but the Michigan-Ohio State rivalry, and Braylon's performance this year and in those games make it acceptable and in some ways appropriate.

FWIW, my opponent this week has Braylon Edwards. The guy is gonna go off to a tune of 8 recs for 135 yards and 2 TD.

- You watch

I certainly hope so!! :banned: However, my luck is a 2 for 24 day while my #3 goes for 8-135-2.

Edwards has been very impressive. 325 yards in 4 games, almost every catch for a first down, 19-20 yard average....he's been very impressive.

I'm psyched to see how he plays fired up for a rivalry

agreed. wasn't too long ago that we were shocked by CJ's trash talk. if they can play up to the hype, why not?

Browns | Team not lacking confidence

Sun, 8 Oct 2006 07:18:09 -0700

Mary Kay Cabot, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports the Cleveland Browns feel they can compete with anybody in the NFL when clicking on all cylinders. "We're at our best when we're spreading the ball around," WR Braylon Edwards said. "When we play on all cylinders, nobody in this league can beat us."

The kid is getting too big for his boots. You'd think he was Jerry Rice in his prime playing for a dominant 49ers team.
