I don't think his performance so far is surprising. I penciled him in for 35 passing TDs and used my second-round pick on Colston accordingly. If only he'd been on the field for today's aerial orgy....
And just think, San Diego wasted LT's best years with a young Rivers at the helm. Rivers is becoming a stud now, but a little too late. Imagine what the Chargers could have been had they not been so foolish...

Brees would have never been as productive in that offense as he's been in NO. Not to mention Brees' injury came at the worst possible time and they were very concerned about his recovery. I don't know, considering the circumstances and the commitment they would have had to make to Brees, letting him go looks like the right call more often than not in those circumstances.I doubt Brees finishes anywhere near Brady's 07' numbers, but he should be a lock for the top-3 this year.

This has been beaten to death, but might as well convert one more...Rivers took the Chargers further than Brees did. Rivers got them to a 14-2 season and a first round bye, followed by the AFC Championship Game the following year.Brees took them to a first round playoff loss, and then they missed the playoffs.Rivers wasn't great in 2007, but in 2006 he was better than Brees ever was with the Chargers. He's been awesome this year obviously. Add in the shoulder injury suffered by Brees and the fact that they would've been paying the QB position roughly $417 billion had they franchised Brees, and I fail to see how they were foolish in any way.
