Brees is 0-5 last 5 games when temp is under 45 degrees (1 Viewer)

DeAngelo Hall is out for this game - when 'capping a game, you really have to look at both sides of the ball. The Redskins have been giving up big plays in the passing game of late. Philly torched them deep both times they played (all passing TDs were from outside of the Red Zone). So, before you bail on New Orleans and take the "vaunted Washington defense to keep this close", you might want to consider how well Brees throws the deep ball to several different guys.Couple that with the Redskins' inability to consistently score and this should be a 31-10 or 34-13 type game for the Saints.
:goodposting:And after seeing what the Saints defense did to Tom Brady/Randy Moss/Wes Welker, does anybody expect Jason Campbell and company to do any better? Sometimes its just about who has the better football team. New Orleans in a rout.
So, just wondering if either of you backed up the talk with some cash on the game? If you did, hopefully it wasn't much.

Since 2005, Drew Brees is 0-5 in games where the kickoff-time temperature is less than 45 degrees.

He carries a 79.0 passer rating in those games as well. Sunday's forecast in the nation's capital calls for temperatures in the low 40s, though Saturday's snow and rain is expected to be over by game time. The Redskins also have the NFL's No. 2 ranked pass defense, so it's not setting up for a big passing day.

Interesting fact about DB
Well, he just threw a 'perfect" game. Only the 14th since 1970, I think, or something close.People keep forgetting: the Saints' defense. The Skins inept offense will present plenty of opportunities to the Saints offense.

Also what teams was he playing for and against?

Chicago playoff game? Ok, but weather had little to do with that game.

2 games vs BUF & KC in 2002 when with the Chargers? Hardly convincing vs now.

What are the other two games?
Yes the Saints D who is 18th vs the pass and 19th vs the run, very impressive!
Where are the Saints on turnover ratio? Where are the Skins on that?= Opportunities.
Just for the sake of what was a great thread:there were two points here:

1. Would Brees do well (FF wise, or generally)? and

2. Would the Saints win or lose?

Brees did well. The stat about him being 0-5 in cold weather was a false one: 2 of those games came with the Chargers way back when, two came with the Saints in Chicago, one in the NFCC.

That being said, Brees was underperforming and the Skins could have won this game 30-10.

However, the Saints are looking at home playoff advantage - excellent, favors Saints, so what about being a bad cold weather team from here on out (except maybe that Carolina game in Week 17).

The turnovers!

Vilma had the pick at the end of regulation.

The freak fumble recovery off the rare shanked punt from Morestead.

The steal-`n-run by Meach (yes, that counts).

The fumble recovery by McAlister to put the game in Hartley's hands (foot) in OT.

The missed FG by Suisham - the Saints had a man (Jenkins?) coming in from the Skins' left side, forcing Suisham to push the kick right.

The long drive by Brees at the end of regulation and the quick strike just-dialed-it-up bomb to Meach for the tie. Think just any team, just any QB, does that?

This was good football by a team that never lost its confidence that was well coached in ALL PHASES doing what such teams do.

Maybe now the NO fans can pull their heads from their hind ends and see that their team is just as beatable as the next. All this "we wont loose a game" and "you cant stop us" talk made me nauseous. You are just another team, fighting for home field advantage that can loose on any day.Where did the vaunted D go?
Beatable?Short week, on the road, unfavorable playing conditions, missing lots of defensive starters, going against the #1 pass defense and what happened? We got the W.This ain't just "another team", hoss.
Sounds like they should just cancel the NFC playoffs. Ol' Rog can just deliver the trophy and spend the rest of the day in the Quarter.
I agree. That, and they should just let the Saints play the AFC in the Pro Bowl.

Who said the Saints were not beatable. To my knowledge every team that has won the Superbowl was beaten at least once with exception of the Dolphin team which is really starting to get kind of nervous. The game would not have been this close but due to the reasons mentioned by the poster above the road to victory was difficult but not quite as bad as the Vikings had it last night eh? The Saints just need to get healthy on defense and this discussion would be over.
Yea, I bet they're having trouble sleeping at night. It's ok to be excited about your team.
