Brett Favre to Tampa (1 Viewer)

I am not a Favre hater. I am a GB Packer season ticket holder and have seen every down he has played as a Packer. The only jersey I have ever bought is the #4 Favre jersey (home and away). I am just sick of Favre's crap every off season. Sign Moss, hire Mooch, Javon Walker should honor his contract, I might retire, I don't know if I will retire I need more time, I am retiring (accompamied by tears), I want to play again, etc., etc., etc.
Yeah, he was soooooooooooo wrong about wanting Moss. He obviously was washed up. That 4th would of also killed Green Bay. :hey:
He was wrong about Moss actually. The Packers have the best young WR corps in the league and didn't miss Moss at all last year.
Maybe if we had Moss instead of Koren Robinson on the roster that would have been enough to get by NYG and win the superbowl. Just because NE lost with Moss on their team doesn't mean we would have too. Are you guys honestly saying that Moss with all of GB's other receivers would not improve Green Bay's passing game? This only confirms that most of you really have lost your mind.
I think you're right. In overtime, Moss would have quit on that play, reached up and snagged the ball that would have been intercepted. I don't think Green bay's receivers were what prevented the team from advancing. Driver, Jennings and Jones are good enough to get the job done. They're a better corps than the Giants had.

Garcia is a little > Favre for what the Buccaneers need out of a QB (buying time in the pocket, etc). :lmao:
Have you ever seen Favre buy time and make defenders miss before?
Ever? Sure. He's had a long career. Like Garcia did last year? Not really. Look, I'm not really a huge Garcia fan and I like Favre as much as any football fan. But I just don't see this as "the piece you need for a title" for the Buccaneers. Perhaps I just don't trust Gruden's thinking, so any potential decision he'd make I'm likely to criticize. But a 2nd round pick should net you more than a guy who gives you one year, maybe two, best-case three. Not to mention losing Garcia and costing you a lot against your cap.

Yes. That tends of late to be right before he throws a pick. People are talking about Favre as if he's the same guy who was in his prime 12 years ago. I happen to think that a lot of great stuff came together for him last year, just like a lot of things didn't come together for him the two prior years. In short, I think last year's numbers would be hard for him to reproduce, even for the Packers. On another team it might be harder.

This is not in the area code of awesome for Tampa Bay. What was wrong with Garcia? Taking a losing team to the playoffs wasn't enough? Garcia limited interceptions; Favre collects them. Do you know how many 3rd downs Garcia converted because he bought time with his scrambling? The official stat is...a whole bunch. They want an older, experienced QB to lead the team? Didn't the Buccaneers already have that?Green Bay is swimming in win if they actually get a 2nd round pick and Simms for a guy who wasn't even supposed to be playing. Gruden will probably call Warren Moon to back up Favre.
Im pretty sure Favre> Garcia
But is Favre > Garcia + 2nd round pick?
Of course it is. Favre is one of the all-time best QBs to play the game, and playing in a similar offense in GB he is coming off a monster season. It's not as though you're running the risk of alienating Garcia longer term.
similar offense? The packers threw for almost 900 yards and 12 TDs more than the Bucs did last year. Ike Hillard with his 722 yrds and 1 TD is their number 2, and their third leading receiver is Alex smith with 385 yrds and 3 tds. The Bucs 2nd and third options combined for 1100 yards and 4tds. The packers? 1600 and 14. Hell, the packers 3rd and 4th receivers 1250 yrds and 8tds. The receiving talent on the Bucs is virtually nothing after Galloway (who would fit well with Favre).

There is a scrub on the Bucs named Elroy Mack who was listed as jersey #4, but now he is #43. For some reason the #4 jersey has been made available :welcome:

He is taking about a similar offense scheme and terminology which TB has.
