Brian Calhoun Pro-day? (1 Viewer)

Question - did Brian Calhoun have a Pro-Day @ UW like the USC boys did? If so, were his workout numbers any better than what he posted at the combine? If I recall, the knock on him @ the combine was an incredibly slow 40-time.

March 8, 2006

Brian Calhoun (5-9, 204 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.38. He also had a 38-inch vertical jump, 4.04 short shuttle, 11.03 long shuttle and 6.83 three-cone drill.

Note: The workouts were held on the same type of surface that Ohio State runs on -- plywood covered with AstroTurf. It's a fast surface.

I'd LOVE for the Patriots to draft this guy... he'd be great switching off with Dillon, an amazing 1-2 punch

Why .....They already have Faulk ( same kind of back ) makes no sense.

They need to draft the future not another third down back .

Any idea where this guy is projected to go? I think he'll make a great pro.
My buddy was a teacher of Brian Calhoun in High School and keeps in touch. He told him that he absolutally did not want to play in Green Bay. Unfortionate that even the Wisconsin kid wants nothing to do with the Packers.

Well, Jonathan Orr ran in the 4.2s on that track (after about 4.4 at the combine), so in reality Calhoun did not improve on his disappointing 40 (around 4.6) at the combine.

Most likely destination right now would be Atlanta, but the Indy, NY Jets, NE, Cleveland, Oakland all seem possible among others.

He's a great fit for Indy if they can't get the guy they want in the first.

Not a knock on Calhoun (although I agree that he has yet to really refute that poor combine), but if the Colts go into 2006 banking on the 6th or 7th highest rated rookie RB, a guy whose stock has taken a hit since the Senior Bowl, as a replacement for Edgerrin James, they are really rolling the dice. And this might not be the best time to take that kind of a gamble since the Manning-era Super Bowl window is still relatively wide open. A few weeks ago they probably figured they had a good shot at Mulroney falling to them, but now that seems remote. Does anybody see them drafting LenDale if he was available?

In my opinion the Colts are on slippery ice here, and might be better off moving up to get DeAngelo or Mulroney.
