I remember when we attacked Iraq in 2003 and the air force went after Saddam's palaces with big bunker busters. I don't think that would have been necessary if these things had been around then.

I wonder if we're going to need to have some sort of international agreement on limiting the use of these things in the future?

I'd guess he's getting at the fact that with one of these, you could essentially take out any exposed target on earth. So more from an assassination angle than from a safety aspect. It's getting to the point of basically having a kill button on anyone you can see. If we wanted Kim Jong Un dead, all we'd have to do is fire one of these bad boys into his window.

We can have one of those pretty much anywhere within an hour, manned or unmanned. There are very few nations with the ability to take down our fighters with any regularity. Only a handful that aren't allies.

I see your point re. this possibly not being anything new. I'm sure we have some pretty accurate stuff. Those videos were impressive though. I guess back to the OP's point, the only thing at this point that keeps the US government from killing pretty much anyone who's whereabouts are known is political, not tactical.

The unfortunate evolution of technology means that at some point in the future, militants will likely have this same capability, and won't have as much to lose should they decide to take out a foreign head of state. That's kind of scary.

I think they're mainly used on armored vehicles, so they would need the warhead. I don't believe they are intended to be snipers.
