Being a Bears fan I should hate the Packers, but it's the kind of rivalry that gives you a grudging respect.

The one team I have always hated more than any other team in the NFL is the Cowboys. I hate their owner, most if not all of their great players (Aikman's ok but Emmit, Irvin, TO, Deion), and their claim to be "America's team." And it's easy to hate them because they're almost always good.

Most hated college program: USC

Most hated college coach: Steve Spurrier (back in the Florida run up the score Fun N Gun days). Kiffin I detest but he doesn't deserve the top spot because he's never done anything than be consistently mediocre as a head coach.

Most hated NFL coach: Jimmy Johnson

Most hated NFL player: Without a doubt, Bill Romanowski. No explanation needed I hope.

Who ya got? Pour some hatorade on this thread.

All former Sooners.

Life's too short broski. Focus on the love.

As a Steeler fan I harbor a small amount of hate for Bill Cowher.

Why?

Because when Joe Montana got his walking papers in San Francisco he had his agent call the Steelers and tell them he wanted to play for them.

He expressed his admiration for the team and franchise and he was Pittsburgh-down-the-road native.

Told them that he could be the missing piece to a Lombardi and was willing to compete for the job.

But freaking Cowher said "no thanks, we have our quarterback". Neil 55% ODonnell.

Montana then signed with KC and the Chiefs beat the Steelers in the playoffs later that year (a Joe 4th quarter comeback with the win in OT no-less), played 3 playoff games, and they came up 1 game short of the Super Bowl.

I used to think I hated players when I was growing up, now that I'm a little older I find that even for those players, there's a certain amount of respect for them. You start to realize that you need even those players or coaches you hate in the sport that you love.

I thought I hated Larry Bird growing up, but when he retired he was gone and I missed rooting against him. He was a great, great player and the NBA was a better league because he was in it.

With that said, he do I like to root against.

In college it's USC and Ohio St. I'm a big Michigan fan so I'm jealous of the recent success by USC and of course really can't stand Coach Carroll and Tressel. However, both are great college coaches and I'd rather try and beat them than them not be in the sport.

In the pros, it's really the entire NFC East. I could say Washington but honestly it's whoever is the best that year. The Giants have had some great teams over the years, the Eagles have been the most consistent in terms of winning games the last 10 years and the Redskins are down for them right now but have some great winning traditions. When any one of those teams become the best team in the NFC East, old wounds open up and it doesn't take long to not root for that particular team.

The most undecided player ever for me is Brett Farve. I've rooted against this guy and now I kind of root for him. He takes such a beating from the press about so many things I hate to be just one more guy doing what everyone else is doing, piling on. If Dallas doesn't win a SB this year, and it's not the Lions (I live in Detroit), I'd like to see Farve win one and get out of Dodge on the ultimate high note.

You're entitled to how you feel, but I'm trying to help a brother out here. What about all the wonderful things he did for Pittsburgh. Coming from a suburb in Detroit here, that dude was an awesome coach. The Detroit Lions could add up the success and talent of the last 40 years and it wouldn't equal to what that guy accomplished. I'd let that one go, he was a stud coach, although not perfect, up to you though.

The only team I truly hate is the Broncos, having lived in the Rockies during the Elway era. I can tell you, there is a huge underground Raider Nation up in Denver.

Still hate that team with a passion. But please Denver fans, nothing personal. Hating a team does not signify hate to a team's fans.

Cowher deserves much praise and admiration from Steeler fans, me included. Its just a small amount of hate, because Joe + the mid 90s Steelers would have held a title or two. No doubt about it.

Bill couldn't see it because of one of his strengths/faults... loyalty to veteran players. Like ODonnell. Who jumped shipped 3 years later after folding like a lawn chair in the Super Bowl.

i cant stand the steelers has there been another team in history that has benefited from so many horrible and contreversial calls??

No problem, the feeling is mutual. I hate the Raiders, but I know a lot of people who are fans that I don't hate. You are right about an underground raider nation around here. There seems to be a lot of you gang banger wannabes around here. :2cents:

Brett Favre (which is amazing because 48 months ago he was my favorite non-Buccaneer player) and Leonard Little.

You know that warm and fuzzy feeling the national media felt after New Orleans won the Super Bowl? I didn't feel it. I'd pass 50 kidney stones if it meant that the Saints would go winless for the next 3 years. Also got no love for Carolina, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Dallas, New York #1, New York #2, Buffalo, Miami, New England, San Frans, San Diego, Oakland, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Cleveland, Houston, Indy, Saint Louis, Minnesota, Green Bay, Detroit, Chi-town, Tennessee, Denver, Kansas City and Washington. I'm neutral on Arizona and Seattle because the refs costs them the Superbowl in recent years.

ETA: The only two teams I didn't think about from the top of my head were Jacksonville and Cincinnati. There's nothing good about those teams either.

Stanford, obviously, and John Elway in particular. What a whiny puke, and incredibly overrated.

As an Oakland taxpayer I should hate the Raiders for stealing the city's money, but I put that more on the clueless city council, and Ignacio de la Fuente in particular. (And he still wants to give them more!)

I don't hate the 49ers, but I do hate their fans.

I still love to hate Vick. And no i don't hate him because of the dogs. For some reason, I've hated him since about the 3rd year in Atlanta. I never saw him as a good QB and it got to me how much praise he received. Not sure why, but it got under my skin. And it's not because he was a scrambling QB. I admired Steve Young.

I can't stand Jerry Jones.

Al Davis is one annoying SOB.

I hate Tom Brady. Back when he was still proving himself, his demeanor was incredibly different. Perhaps after so much success he expects certain things from himself, but I almost feel as if he were to win another super bowl Tom would think to himself, "yea I'm the $hi.t aren't I? That's right, I am."

Now for the LOVE.

I love Mcnabb. I hope he sets stadiums on fire this year (but still loses to Kolb's inferno). He never (and probably never will) get enough credit.

I love Peyton. For some reason his goofy-geek portrayal in those commercials is the type of guy I imagine myself being, should I ever become the best signal caller of all time.

Nnamdi Asomugha is a favorite. "Shut down corner" is thrown around a lot, but there are seriously very few that ever should wear this title. Nnamdi is one of em. Why he decided to stay with the raiders I'll never know.

Timmy I-Walk-On-Water Tebow, being an atheist and an FSU fan was rough for the past 4 years. Glad that bull**it is over.

I have no idea why, but I've been up and down on him. First, I didn't care. Then, I hated seeing him on TV every third minute and wished he never got drafted. Now...I actually hope he takes over the starting gig in Denver. /shrug

:Best Case Scenario: - First game against SD, Tebow bootleg to the blindside, Merriman free release, boom goes the dynamite. While in hospital decides to quit and go to Africa to circumcise children. 8 year-old gives him AIDS in apparent accident. Little Timmy dies slow, agonizing, virgin death.

1. ravens. should be obvious.

2. joe paterno, because he killed our rivalry (pitt grad, 2000)

3. any of the goons in this league that beat on their girl.

4. belichick. some of the stories i've heard about how he treats people makes me sick.

5. the fact that i have to root for my team and somehow paradoxically hope the qb doesnt do well enough to get any kind of glory. by all acounts roethlisberger is a class A jerk.

Do not even get me started on the New England Patroits. I DETEST, LOATHE AND HATE HATE HATE that team, their coach and their QB. Watching them run up scores with their figurative middle finger in the air without one ounce of sportsmanship or shred of class was one of the most disgusting displays of "sport" I have ever witnessed and then for their low class, arrogant jackass of a head coach to go for it on 4th down in the Super Bowl rather than kicking a field goal, claiming his innocence in the whole spygate scandal etc. UGH! It boils my blood just thinking about. Also, from Tom Brady's lack of class when he laughed at the prospect of only scoring 17 points against the Giants. From the morons in the media claiming New England's 19-0 run as a "perfect season" or their perfect regular season was the most amazing thing they've ever witnessed in sports while simultaneously ignoring the fact that they LOST the Super Bowl making that entire run completely and utterly MEANINGLESS! You can't have a perfect regular season without winning the final game and the Patriots didn't do so, end of story, period. As a Dolphins fan, having to sit back that entire year and hear the nonstop garbage and BS about how the Patriots were god's gift to football and Tom Brady was the most incredible QB to ever drop back and Bill Belicheat was this mastermind genius who defied mortality was sickening. I have never cheered that hard or that loud or that passionately for a team that I wasn't even an actual fan of than I did for the New York Giants and when the final seconds ticked away I was celebrating like it was Miami hoisting the Lombardi Trophy. I even went so far as to buy the Giants Super Bowl Champions T-shirt and the DVD and will always hold a level of utmost gratitude and respect for winning that football game. I will hate New England until the day I die.

I love hating the Cowboys and NFL brass . In over 40 years since the Ice Bowl they have never come to Green Bay after Halloween.

Really? I mean, really?

Can't believe no one's said it yet.... but I hate Ray Lewis. And pretty much hate the Ravens.

Hated Warren Sapp and still don't think much of him.

HATE Michigan!

i hate the steelers & colts

and the bills of the late 80's/ early 90's

i dont really hate any certain player.....maybe just the mannings

I don't like the Ravens, Patriots, Cowboys, Raiders and Bengals. Used to hate the Browns and someday I am sure I will again but they have been so bad for so long that I feel sorry for them & their fans.

The only college coach I can't stand is Joe Paterno. The guy was a great coach but now he is an crabby old man that won't step aside even though the game has long passed him by. Oh yeah, he KILLED the best college rivalry in PA.

Edited to add pro players I don't like: Ray Lewis and Tom Brady. Coach Belichick wins the honors for my least favorite pro coach that I don't like. Least favorite owner is Jerry Jones.

You hate someone because they're religious?

Yeah, I don't really get the hate for Tebow. By all accounts he really is a great kid. When did that become a bad thing? With all the prima-donna's, wife beaters, drunker drivers, Vikings and adulterers out there, you're going to hate on Tebow? :o

Tell us how you really feel? :lmao: And yet somehow you got through all that without mentioning the one thing that annoys ME to no end: Brady crying to the refs for a flag every time he gets grazed. Put a skirt on that guy already. :o Well, that how they somehow made themselves out to the be the victims in the whole spygate thing.

SABAN! Total hate for the guy that will never change.

And yes, my Dad is an Auburn alum, so I root for them as well...

I believe the most hate I have towards the NFL falls into the following:

1) commercial breaks after every play

2) tom brady in his post game fashion show...er, i mean interview

not what the OP asked, but these are my two hates.

Hell yes. I hope his injury on the field is like a hip horribly out of socket and protruding through the skin. His screams haunting and loud enough to echo up to through the rafters. Hopefully his parents and a large contingent of Gators fans are there as well with stunned looks on their faces, hugging each other tighter with each Tebow scream. Maybe the camera focuses on a grown man crying uncontrollably. Then, years later when he's laying in shanty hospital bed in sub-Saharan Africa with AIDs and flies and what have you, he publicly denounces his entire belief system and the life he's led, swears allegiance to Satan, then dies as the flies consume his face. :suds:

Yeah, hate is probably a little bit strong, but ...

The YANKEES! Ever and always. I can't even bring myself to muster decent respect or contrition for the loss of the Boss.

Baseball for letting one team spend 15 times(!) what another can. What the hell kind of victory is winning in those conditions? The Cowboys. The Patriots. Both mostly for organizational arrogance and attitude, and for the ridiculous levels of media adoration. For players, I guess guys who beat their women (or animals). And to a lesser extent, loudmouth guys who put themselves above their team and teammates.
