Broncos at Chargers (1 Viewer)

Why is Manning being heralded as the hero here for bringing the team back? Didn't Rivers basically hand it to them, like 6 times? You give ANY QB 6 turnovers to work with and they'll likely come back from any sort of deficit... What am I missing?
New to the NFL? QBs get most of the credit and most of the blame. Same as day one.

I suppose, but this just seemed to be... really obviously not a heroic Manning-related win?

While I agree it wasn't all him 13-14, 167 and 3 tds in the second half deserves some credit, no?

I had picked Denver to win this game in my weekly pickem league. I went to bed at half time and told the wife, "Rivers will start turning the ball over in the 2nd half...Denver is still very much in this game." ANd whadaya know? Rivers throws 4 INTs and fumbles it away twice and took a bunch of sacks. I'm sure he was trying to force it to Gates. When defenses take away Gates, he has no idea what to do.

Rivers and Cutler are my two least favorite QBs in the league...and Mike Vick.

Yeah, but 3 TDs with only 167 yards suggests he had a pretty short field to work with most of the time.

Denver had TD drives of 85, 55, and 50 yards. Just for comparison, the Chargers scoring drives were 66, 19, and 4 yards.

rewatch Manning in the 2nd half. He absolutely had something to do with that comeback. The past few QBs in Denver would not have led Denver back in that game.

There's no doubt that all the turnovers played a big role, both in keeping the Chargers from extending the lead, and in producing points of their own, with 2 return TDs.

But if we're discussing Manning's role and the turnovers, it's worth pointing out that his first two touchdowns had nothing to do with turnovers. They came on the first two drives of the second half, the first after receiving the 2nd half kick off and then the second drive was after a Chargers punt.

Tedy Bruschi with the ESPN Talking Head stupid comment of the day.

"Brandon Stokley may be the MVP of this team."

:lmao:

Okay, T.
