Broncos, Ravens. Thoughts. (1 Viewer)

Denver's running game was anemic.

Torrey Smith is playing a bit physical. Got shut down by Rodgers-Cromartie. Was wide open, Flacco completely missed him. Got open deep.

Jacoby Jones is FAST. Pops off the screen.

Dallas Clark and Brandon Stokley, ew.

Julius Thomas may be the real deal.

Joe Flacco getting NO HELP from his receivers. Drops. Flacco stares down Ray Rice, pick 6 (close enough).

Ray Rice still a PPR nightmare. But if their defense is this porous, opportunity may not be there.

Denver's Defense is gonna be great with Miller and Bailey back.

Moreno = Starter.

Hillman = Garbage.

Ball = MIA.

Actually, Hillman has some decent burst.

Ball showed some power.

Demaryius Thomas has sick lateral agility for a big man. Could of had a TD. Guy might be a lock for 12+ Touchdowns. Love that screen pass. He's too good.

Decker with a bad drop, make that a few. He's the weakest link.

Manning knows how to spread the ball around, this Offense is gonna be special.

Wes Welker = Dallas Clark. They should never send him deep.

Marlon Brown doesn't look awful. I'm gonna pick him up if Jones is out. Scores a Touchdown, might be harder to grab now.

Ed Dickson is a disappointment.

Michael Oher could be a big loss for Ravens. Hope he stays healthy.

Ravens pass rush looks decent.

Not a single Kick Return in this game, might as well get rid of it. It's almost a formality.

Only reason for Peyton to be in the game at all in the 4th quarter was to serve notice to the rest of the league.

Bernard Pierce saw LOADS of playing time. There were a lot of situations where Rice was not even on the field. If I had to guess Pierce was in for more plays and had only three fewer carries.

Ed Dickson still sucks.

Dallas Clark isnt much better.

If I was Joe Flacco I would have killed half my team tonight.

Eric Decker still sucks. I told everyone i could not to take him because he dropped a ton of balls last year and they have better receivers there now. His targets last year hid how bad he is.

How about Orange Julius? Already gone in my league.

That Thomas guy is pretty good. Played as Julius in the first half and Demaryius in the second. I'm out if he comes out in week two as Daniel though.

Baltimore has serious issues up the middle of that D. ILB and Safeties were pretty horrid tonight. That Baltimore offense is seriously lacking weapons.

Manning is still an ###.

Signed,

Bitter Charger fan and facing Manning.

That was some terrible tackling and defensive positioning by the Ravens LBs and DBs.

If the Ravens D is that bad, Flacco now has the upside to be a nice QB option, and Rice will have another big year in PPR leagues.

While Manning is going to have an awesome year.....the main question is how the pie continues to be divided. Will Decker be the odd man out? You got to get the ball to Demariyus.....he's a man playing against boys. Welker looked like he's been playing with Manning for years. It will be interesting to see how J Thomas does when defenses pay a little more attention to him. He was wide open all night long.

Oher's side of the line was worse than terrible after he left the game. #71 R Wagner was the guy I noticed at the right end who had guys blowing by him way too many times. losing jones and oher really sucked for flacco.

There wasn't anybody on the Raven's D to match wits with Peyton last night. (Lewis/Reed I am looking at both of you).

Ravens run blocking looked terrible.

Flacco can have some great fantasy weeks if guys catch the ball.

Ball made me extremely happy because I was playing against him.

J.Thomas reminds me of a 2003/04 Antonio Gates

This Julius Thomas hype will be insane, until week 3 when they see it is the Ogletree syndrome.

I wonder if everyone thought Ogletree was beast after his Week 1 performance?

Yup they did, how did that work out?Now they think the same for Julius.

By the way we get on people for bad nicknames but we are gonna call this guy Orange Julius? Not only is that not original, it's lame.

when has Manning not used his TE? Orange Julius is no Ogletree.

-Peyton is going to throw for 112 TDs this year.

-Decker isn't going to catch any of them

-Moreno is the guy to have in the Denver backfield

-Julius Thomas is the next Antonio Gates

-Ravens defense is going to give up 784 points this year.

After one game? FBG and they hype they put on people is crazy.

Has nothing to do with Manning being his QB and players missing tackles though.

:lmao:

The hype on JT is insane. He had a great game because the first 3 options were covered pretty well. Decker and Demaryius aren't going to be blanketed all season. They're gonna get their looks, and JT is going to have some regression over the next couple of weeks. He'll be one of those "every 3rd game he explodes" guys as defenses rotate coverage.

He's pretty untradeable now. Whoever has him is going to overprice him. In one of my leagues, he was undrafted... and some guy is going to blow his whole wad trying to get him this week, only to get burned when the passes start going back to the other guys.

Ravens: 89 snaps.

Rice: 53 snaps.

Pierce: 33.

And FWIW...

Torrey: 87.

Marlon: 67.

Stokely: 57.

ETA...

Clark: 60.

Dickson: 39.

The Ravens Defence has plugged in a ton of new contributors, and they were playing on the road in the hardest place in the league to play in week 1 against perhaps the best QB ever to play the game. They will finish as a top 12 fantasy defence, and int the top half of yardage/scoring defence.

At any rate, we will know a lot more about them after week 2 when they play Cleveland at home coming off a long rest. Until then...

After watching that display from Denver's RBs, I feel even better about the CJ Anderson choo choo!

Do not do a drinking game based on how many TD Manning throws if you need to do anything the next day.

Although Pierce was in the game a fair amount I saw him running into the back of his blockers, he did not look that good to me.

Welker made some nice blocks as well as receptions. It is going to be really difficult for any team to find answers if they can maintain the protection they provided Manning last night consistently.

The Raven's really miss Ed Reed.

I think thoughts belong in the game thread.
You're more than welcome to post in that thread.
I can't wait to come into the Shart Pool on Monday morning and see 14 game threads, and then 14 threads for your "thoughts" on every one of those games.
There is a lot of garbage in those threads. Makes sense to me to talk about it after the game when people are a bit less jacked up.

Any thoughts on Welker after game one. Would it just be flukie taking that sample size or think he might have a big year, it seemed manning was looking his way quite often.
