Broncos vs Seahawks or Packers in SB (1 Viewer)

I refuse to pick any Peyton Manning lead team to go to the Super Bowl. Too many choke jobs in the playoffs, I could see New England, or Houston beating them.

I'd love to see Caramel Flutie break Manning's rookie TD record and then meet him in NO. The resurgent master vs the Next One. Also to watch Manning battle the Legion of Boom.

Their division/schedule has been cupcake since losing to New England...their best wins this season came against the Ravens and Bengals while both teams were mired in bad stretches of play.

I hope Seahawks vs Packers happens again, just so if the Hawks make it all the way I don't have to hear anyone whine about the last bad call in a game that was littered with them.

Agree with this. They have been winning very easily however and are a complete team passing, running and defense. Other teams being exposed.

... especially if you subscribe to "NFL Game Rewind". Almost anyone could see both New England and Houston beating them, if they want to.

I like the Patriots in the AFC, but I could see Baltimore making a run if Flacco gets hot and with Lewis returning and providing an emotional lift. In the NFC, I agree that it will either be SEA or GB, not sold on Matt Ryan and the Falcons in the playoffs but they almost seem like underdogs which is hilarious.

My prediction: NE vs SEA with NE winning.

Manning will not be making a SB appearance. Brady and the Pats have dominated Jack Del Rio's defense time and time again, go look at the stats yourself. I'm going with NE vs GB, with NE winning in the last minute.

And I'm not sure how NE doesn't pass the eye test. A complete thrashing of the Texans, and putting up 28 straight points on one of the best defenses in the league? I haven't seen the Broncos do that. Pats struggled vs the Jags, but so did Denver vs the Chiefs a few weeks ago..and I bet they will next week too.

While it was their fourth loss in a row, the Bengals are 6-1 since that loss to Denver. The Broncos dismantled the Saints when the Saints were in the middle of a 5-1 stretch.

And still...nobody would rate those teams as Superbowl contenders. As solid as Denver has been during this 10 game streak, they beaten just 1 Superbowl contender: the Ravens. And of the contenders, I think they qualify as the weakest of the bunch by far...Before crowning Denver as the team to beat, I'd like to see them beat someone first.

I think it's hilarious that people are clinging to those three early season losses as a reason why the Broncos aren't legit.

Have you all forgotten that these three games occurred within the first five games Manning has played in over a year, much less in a new system and new teammates and a new stadium for the firs time in his career? Have you all forgotten that sometimes it might take a new defensive coordinator a few weeks to figure out his teams strengths & weaknesses?

point is - it should have been obvious that Denver would start slow. It's unfortunate that their only competition was so early, it's also unfortunate that some teams we thought would be contenders ended being not - Chargers, Saints, Buccaneers, for example.

Who is "someone"? Only the teams you have deemed as being worthy? I guess we'll just ignore their road win at Cincinnati (another playoff bound team), right?

That's because there are 2 sides in football and their defense is not Superbowl contender
Did you watch the NFL last year? Neither was their defense then, and they made it to the Super Bowl. Their offense..and defense for that matter is better this season.

2005 called, it wants its fallacy back.
First off it was 2006, second off go back and check the games. Peyton played like crap minus the second half against New England. Some reason Bob Sanders came back that year and their defense turned into the 85 Bears.

Too bad Brady has only played well in 3 playoff game since their last super bowl win, 2 firstvrd games against overmatched jaguars and the Tebows last year. Otherwise Ints and ducking from lineman both real and ghosts (jests loss few years ago).

Huh? 2005 Peyton lost to New England, I assume you mean the 2006-7 year when Peyton won the Super Bowl...Manning is one of the worst of the (best QBs) in the playoffs in NFL History.'99 - 2nd seed (0-1)'00 - 6th seed (0-1)'02 - 5th seed (0-1)'03 - 3rd seed (2-1) lost to New England'04 - 3rd seed (1-1) lost to New England'05 - 1st seed (0-1)'06 - 3rd seed (4-0) Super Bowl'07 - 2nd seed (0-1)'08 - 5th seed (0-1)'09 - 1st seed (2-1) lost in Super Bowl'10 - 3rd seed (0-1)Peyton/Marino/Hasselbeck/Moon are the only QBs with at least 10 Playoff starts to have below a .500 winning percentageshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NFL_starting_quarterback_playoff_records

Please reread what you wrote. After you do come back and try to tell me you didn't want to punch yourself in the face.

Funny part is if you combine Eli and Peyton you probably have the best quarterback of all time and no one could argue it. Peyton is as rock solid as they come in the regular season, he wins divisions, he leads bad teams to the playoffs, and he puts up stats every year. You get to the playoffs though and he changes and gets nervous, he loses games he should win, he throws 6 picks in playoff games, instead of leading game winning drives he usually throws a pick and they lose.

Eli on the other hand is as inconsistent as the come in the regular season, he shows flashes of being an elite quarterback then he loses it. The Giants start 6 - 2 and look like a lock to win the NFC and then he goes into Derek Anderson mode and turns the ball over a million times and they miss the playoffs. When Eli gets into the playoffs though look out, it is just another game to him. He goes on the road against better teams and just makes plays to win games and makes these teams look bad while doing it, as if to the say the regular season doesn't matter to him.

Put them together and you get a quarterback better than Brady, who in this era seems to be the most consistent quarterback for the regular season and playoffs. (yes he has had bad games but he doesn't go into the funks that Eli does, and he has been better than Peyton in the playoffs)

Denver is going to become a different team in the post-season. They will rally around Manning similar to the Cards rallying around Warner a few years back.

The sb is wide open this year which is great because all the homers are coming out with their ridiculous logic and biased statements.

I'm excited

You do realize this is a team sport, correct? You can choose to penalize Peyton for taking his above average teams to the playoffs so many years and getting beat by better teams if you want. I say, it speaks to his legend that those teams were even IN the playoffs. Brady hasn't won the big one since his teams defense fell off. It happens!Let me know when your team wins a meaningful game fairly. Then you can start making meaningful posts about the abilities of HOF QBs. Until then, save your criticisms. I have witnessed first hand what Peyton Manning can do with a ####ty team on his shoulders. Just because the team fell short in the playoffs, doesn't mean he is a losing playoff QB.

My response is below. Last I checked, each team consists if 53 men. Manning got teams into the playoffs who otherwise had no business being there. Playoffs are another story. Brady hasn't won the SB since his defense fell off. It happens.

My bowling team won our position round about a month ago, so we will be in the roll off at the end of the year. I shot 700+ for my series. Is that good enough?

We can do this all day, Brady won Super Bowls with running backs like Antwan Smith, and receivers like Branch, Givens, and Patton. Name the last time Peyton had a starting receiver that wasn't top 10. His record speaks for itself.

No it doesn't. We can agree to disagree. Big Ben hasn't won a big game since his defense fell off and is out of the playoffs. Eli will be out of the playoffs and his defense fell off. Brees...sameRivers...sameThese QBs couldn't even get their teams to the playoffs to lose. Peyton had several years where he got his team there. The fact he lost doesn't make him an unsuccessful QB. Just one whose team wasn't good enough to win against better teams.

Name the last time Brady won the Superbowl without a very good or great defense. It's not a knock on Brady, it speaks to it being a team game with 3 facets.
