Browns coaching , Terrible. (1 Viewer)

Harrison gets one series he runs like 4 times for 44 yds and he dose nt get a carry the rest of the game ( Actually he got one more ).

What are they waiting for , Lewis averages 3 ypc against a lousy Broncos defense and they keep giving him the ball.

Tell you what the big problem in Cleveland is coaching.

Jerome Harrison has shown flashes of brilliance. I think, at worst, they should be giving him 7 - 10 touches a game. He is a good complement to Jamal. Here is my post from right after the Broncos game:
Is there a rule that Jerome Harrison isn't allowed to get the ball much? He comes in for 1 (ONE) series, they give him the ball 5 straight times, and he picks up 53 yards. Then he's like a ghost the rest of the game. Does ANYBODY have ANY insight on whey this happens?!? He comes in and looks dominant, only to not see the field again. WTF?!?!? :lmao: :bag: :wall:

I agree, but not necessarily just on the Harrison thing.

Jamal runs down to the 3...gets two yards on first down to the one...and then they run a pitch sweep with Lewis!?!?!? At the one!??!?!

I know they scored on the pass to Winslow but still.

Sorry - bitter Lewis owner, but you don't run a pitch on the one with Lewis as your running back against a small, quick defensive line.

The coaching is a direct reflection of upper management in Cleveland. Neither is bottom 5 in the NFL but they're not far off.

Terrible play calling in my opinion also, but I'm thinking he tried to go off tackle left and got submarined. The Browns are way too predictable in short yardage situation.

With a 1:14 left and 2 timeouts, not even having Jamal Lewis in on the last series was useless, and just told the defense they were passing on 4th and 1 to end the game.

......and before it was a 4th and 1 ..it was a 3rd and 1 -- HORRIBLE COACHING not running it to get the 1st.

Owning J Harrison will eat you up inside. Dude blows up when he touches the ball, they just wont give it to him.

I have Lewis in multiple leagues and also handcuffed Harrison with him. Tippy Toes is done he has no speed no power and for the like of me I don't know why they keep starting him. I would be excited to hear Harrison is going to be the starter. Lewis is a boarder line start anymore. All Lewis does is take the handoff and run in the back of his o lineman and fall down. I ripped of a Slaton owner a couple weeks ago and got him for Tippy Toes wish I could get that deal in the rest of the leagues I am in.Edited to add He does not have a 100 yards this season and he may not all year and still may have 1000 yards and that is such an overrated stat

I think it's EXTREMELY clear that Romeo has some kind of problem with Harrison. He has alluded to many times before that Harrison doesn't block well, but I don't think that excuses not getting him the ball more.

I also think Romeo worries about offending his veterans. Hence we see players like Jamal and McGinest in for many more snaps than they should be.

Bottom line is that unless Romeo comes into his next press conference talking about Harrison getting more playing time (he says the coaching staff would be re-evaluating the personnel this weekend), we're not going to see Harrison get more touches until next year, if ever.

Jerome Harrison is too small to be an every down back. :goodposting:

Love that saying. At 5'9", 210 with speed, he is Westbrook size. (1 inch shorter).

WHY?? Why?? why?? All this guy does is produce. I have held him in my dynasty league and I cannot figure out why he doesn't get more of a chance to play. He is a player that could help Brady out greatly.

I think he is very similar to Leon Washington... Both have proved to be dynamic players but are entrenched as second fiddles behind aging veterans. Both the Jets and Browns would be well-served to get these guys involved more.

Passblocking is not an option anymore in the nfl. If a rb can't passblock effectively, either he gets his qb killed, or his presence in the game tells the defense they're running the ball.

Another :lmao: with Harrison is sometimes Wright will be in there for a series. If you're looking to handcuff to Jamal in a redraft it's unclear. In dynasty, it's either Harrison or someone not on the Browns yet. All around ugliness.

stop your #####ing he still had 14 pts in most leagues =/

However, Washington does have some ability in the pass blocking category (unless he gets mulled over by a 350+ pd DL)

As a Browns fan, I agree, the coaching is terrible, and the problems are trickling up to Savage and making him look like an idiot now. Romeo comes into a game with a game plan, when other teams adjust to his game plan, Romeo makes no adjustments. Obviously, with Harrison, it wasn't in his gameplan to play him more than 1 series.

All I know, is Romeo is hands down the worst clock manager and in game coach I've ever seen, and it all started last year, where he tried to single handedly lose games for us. If this head clown is back next year, I'm going to screem. It is officialy time to begin the Cower countdown, head clown has to go, and Savage can go with him if it means getting Cower. These two are way to loyal to eachother and certain players, even to the effect that it costs the team games.

Lewis had 40 yards on his first 4 carries, it's not like they didn't have reason to think he would continue to be successful running the ball. agree that harrison should get some more looks, but i think in general Denver was committing more to stopping the run in the 2nd half.

''Browns coaching , Terrible., Jerome Harrison.''

Reading this i thought harrison was openly complaining about the coaching....

Yeah, I agree that they were running the ball fairly well, and Harrison especially looked great. Then they seemed to abandon the run

for the most part. That last series.... oi!

:goodposting: Harrison's pass blocking is atrocious and will get Cleveland's love child Brady Quinn killed if he was the featured back, however he is a playmaker on a team desperate for a playmaker since Bray Edwards hands were surgically removed in the offseason. They do need to incorporate him more into the offense, just not as a featured back.

Picked HArrison up in two league's this guy has to get more chances moving forward. He is to productive.
101 yards on 4 touches. Not bad. Maybe they should just give him the damn ball a little bit more often.
Not to mention a touchdown.I swear, if we don't see Harrison touch the ball at least 10 times next week...Romeo has got to get over this. Sit the vet and give this guy the damn ball!

Romeo at the presser: Everytime he touches the ball, he does pretty good. We'll continue to use him from time to time, and let him help us like he did tonight.

 Terrible playcalling - they were playing like they had to score a couple times rather than burn the clock while they try and score.

I've been a pretty solid Romeo supporter over the years, but it's stuff like this that ABSOLUTELY CONVINCES me that he's not going to make it.What a moron!

I'm sure that Romeo is thinking he's a genius... "Look, every situation I choose to put this guy in the game he explodes....".... I have had a couple of opportunities to watch the Browns this season and all I can say is that they are very predictable and horribly coached. 1st down, run for 3 yards, pass, pass, run for 3 yards, pass, pass.... my 5 year old could call defensive schemes against this group.Maybe if the fans scream loud enough for Harrison he will play... it worked for Quinn.

As a Steelers fan, I hope the Browns manage to win a majority of their remaining games and Crennel is offered a 10 year contract extension!

I am not saying he should be the featured back, but Harrison has got to get more touches. He just makes things happen. You have to get him involved more.

I cannot root against my Browns but if getting rid of Romeo means we have to lose 10 games I won't complain too loudly when we do lose.

I think Romeo must have made up this week's RB rankings. Harrison isn't on it.
Harrison missed Wed. practice with a hammy.
Even so... Romeo has said he isn't in line for an increased role. That is real, real stupid. This guys is looking like a Norwood or Bradshaw.
He is actually build more like a every down back then Norwood or Bradshaw ( 10 pounds more then Bradshaw one inch shorter then Bradshaw ).He could start for the Borwns and get like 10 - 15 carries and 4 - 5 receptions for beyween 15 - 20 touches a game , and put up monster numbers but Romeo is blinded by Jamal's 3,6 YPC average.I have no clue why he is not plyaing him more , he must be in love with Jamal .
