The Browns placed Daylon McCutcheon on the injured reserve list today, meaning the veteran cornerback will be lost for the season.

McCutcheon, one of only two players remaining from the original expansion team in 1999, missed all of training camp and the first two games of the season with a knee injury. Last season was the first time McCutcheon was healthy enough to start all 16 games.

The Browns are expected to look for a veteran free agent to add to the roster. Ray Mickens, who played here last year, is one player who might be available.

To replace McCutcheon on the roster, the Browns activated rookie nose tackle Babatunde Oshinowo from the practice squad. Oshinowo was drafted in the sixth round out of Stanford. Wide receiver

Start Mcnair and Jamal Lewis this week. Their other CB Gary baxter may not play too and Palmer shredded them last week. Also with the Ravens D shutting down the Browns O, lots of opportunities for points for the O.

Wow, that hurts. Brown has been down right awful filling in for McCutcheon. It’s going to be a long season for Browns fans.

Browns CB Baxter has a partially torn chest muscle

Cornerback Gary Baxter is playing with a partially torn chest muscle that has limited his ability to tackle. On Sunday, Baxter had a tough time handling Bengals wide receiver Chris Henry, who finished with five catches for 113 yards.

Baxter underwent an MRI on Monday and said it ``might be the best thing'' for him to sit out and rest until he's 100 percent. The club has not yet announced test results for Baxter, who missed 10 games last season with a similar injury.
