To be fair, the starting Browns WR's were still in.Not sure but they were still in on that drive. Why would Denver be playing their starting front 7 in the second half?2nd string Browns line doing well against Denver's starting front 7.
Did you miss the deep pass in the endzone to JJ?Quinn looks good throwing the ball short to the RB...Play calling on his drive thus far have been horrible. If they are serious about him playing this year, they need to see him go down field. Teams like Steelers, Ravens will chew up these short passes.
Medium pass to Cribbs. He threaded the needle a little.was it a wr screen?watching the play by play it looks like he dinks and dunks a lot again this game.....I think it could be more what Quinn knows he can do rather than looking at his first choice he is checking down. But you are right no way will he spend more than 2 series doing this in the regular season against any team. But I could be wrong and they are just giving him those few sets of plays.
You mean the incomplete pass?chris1969 said:Did you miss the deep pass in the endzone to JJ?PennStater77 said:Quinn looks good throwing the ball short to the RB...Play calling on his drive thus far have been horrible. Not Quinns fault. He put the ball in a perfect spot and JJ stepped OTB.You mean the incomplete pass?chris1969 said:Did you miss the deep pass in the endzone to JJ?PennStater77 said:Quinn looks good throwing the ball short to the RB...Play calling on his drive thus far have been horrible. The Cribbs TD was not a pass short even though NFL.com said it is. Cribbs caught it on the 3 yard line.Brady has thrown 10 balls thusfar in the game.
NFL.com play by play has a description of "pass short" on 9 of them.![]()
see my stat above9 of 10 passes are described as "pass short" on nfl.com play by play.just like last week.5 of his passes have been thrown to the RB, I am sure his RB aren't 10+ yards own field. They are going 2-3 yards and turning around and getting the ball.
OK, 8 out of 10The Cribbs TD was not a pass short even though NFL.com said it is. Cribbs caught it on the 3 yard line.Brady has thrown 10 balls thusfar in the game.

I agree with everything you just said, but I'm still a little unsure about Quinn. He did a great job of taking what Denver gave him, but I'd still like to see a few more deep strikes. I can't fault the guy he's played fantastic but I still have trouble throwing him the keys to the Lamborghini when all that perfect driving has been at 5 miles an hour. I'm hoping he gets a few more chances to go deep next week. When he did, he was on target, but I need to see a few more deep throws.im not trying to prove you wrong it was a designed play to cribbs so he could use his speed. there have been alot of little 5 yd passes but most have been either desined that way or everyone was covered. i think quinn is doing a good job of scanning the fields and taking what is given to him. he doesnt look at the rec 2-3 times like frye and anderson does. they useallu dont look at the check off man till either its way too late or or after 2-3 looks at the rec. thats why these plays are working a little better for quinn. it doesnt give the def a chance to see the back stand there waiting for the check down pass. he just hits them while they have room to run. if we can dink and dunk like that all game long and throw the depp ball once in awhile to keep them back some i will take it.
I would too. People I think way underestimate the value of "dink and dunk". Not all QBs see the field well enough to do that. Jim not trying to prove you wrong it was a designed play to cribbs so he could use his speed. there have been alot of little 5 yd passes but most have been either desined that way or everyone was covered. i think quinn is doing a good job of scanning the fields and taking what is given to him. he doesnt look at the rec 2-3 times like frye and anderson does. they useallu dont look at the check off man till either its way too late or or after 2-3 looks at the rec. thats why these plays are working a little better for quinn. it doesnt give the def a chance to see the back stand there waiting for the check down pass. he just hits them while they have room to run. if we can dink and dunk like that all game long and throw the depp ball once in awhile to keep them back some i will take it.
I don't mean this to sound like a knock on the Browns as I like them but this team isn't a Lamborghini. This team is a chevy. With some miles. It makes throwing Quinn in there much easier. It's a lot more like Arizona or Tennessee last year than Denver with Cutler who most thought was a playoff contender.JI agree with everything you just said, but I'm still a little unsure about Quinn. Selvin Young - 17/91 1TD.Watchers?
SY looked quick and had some nice moves. He is not a power back and could not handle a heavy workload. Sapp looked powerfull. He made quick reads and seemed to gain 4-5 on every run. If Henry goes down, they have a nice little thunder and lightning thing to fall back on. To answer your question, I would say no, but it's like comparing Westbrook to Bettis. Lets remember that this was the Browns and SY faced mostly their 2nd stringers. BTW, if I had the Donkey D, which I do, I would keep an eye on the waiver wire!Selvin Young - 17/91 1TD.Watchers?It seems like SY did better than Sapp but it would be nice to hear from someone who watched the game.
