Bruschi Announces Retirement (1 Viewer)

I have Gary Guyton in a few of my leagues so I am looking forward to hopefully adding a productive linebacker to my rosters with him. Question still to be asked is will he be a 3 down backer?

Guyton will be a three down backer. He's had a nickel role last year and was playing in the nickel whether Bruschi was dressed or not over the past two weeks.

That's a pretty bold prediction. The players on the field Sunday in the nickel formation were Burgess and Banta-Cain at the ends, with a rotation of Seymour, Wilfork, Warren, and Jarvis Green inside. The primary linebackers were Mayo and Adalius Thomas. There's really no one in that group who you'd sit in order to get Guyton on the field. That being said, I do think Guyton will eventually emerge as a pretty good player.

Haven't yet seen the W3 preseason game and that's not what I was seeing in the first two weeks. Thanks for posting. Interesting that it would be Green at end and Thomas at backer, rather than Thomas/Guyton. Seems the Patriots are definitely looking at changing things up on defense this year.
