Buff backfield after the Lynch trade (1 Viewer)

Does F. Jackson resume his role as the workhorse with Spiller the COP or is it Spiller time?

Spiller owner here - I still think Jackson will see the majority of the carries at first, with CJ as the 'change of pace'. I'd guess 60/40 at first, with CJ gaining more of the share as the season progresses.

I do like the match this week. You'd think the Bills would be wise to really try and establish their ground game against a weak team.

I'm kind of thinking the same thing. I think they'll use Jackson early on and give Spiller more and more as time goes on.

I got to think Fred is the play here. Buffalo has nothing to play for. Ride Jackson into the ground this year, let Spiller get a couple touches a game. I see no reason to overwork the kid when there is no reward this season.

Spiller should get his... But timing is the question.

In the meantime if the bills rb breakdown is 60/40, four rushes ain't going to do it. They need to starting handing the ball off for anyone to have value.

That's nice of Chan to save CJ for the next coach.

Yeah if they play Jets every week. Lynch had 30 carries in the two games prior to the Jets game.Serisouly though I would expect a committee approach like Jones and Barber in Dallas with Spiller getting more and more as the season goes along. I could a situation where they rotate drives for now.

I gotta think its FJAX. He's really the only one that can run 20+ times and do the work inside.

With that being said: does it matter? The Bills could use one guy exclusively and 9-16 touches per game just isn't going to make anyone fantasy relevant.

BIG BIG win for LYNCH owners!

you either have fred jackson, or don't have common sense.so, if the bills suck the first 4 weeks of 2011 (which they will), do you then shutdown spiller and keep him fresh for 2012??

This gives Lynch a small bump and Forsett a significant downgrade. Full blown RBBC going forward. Blah.

I actually have Spiller, and I'm just taking a shot in the dark on this one. The guy already touches the ball 5 times a week in return game. He should still see 10 touches in the offense each week. 15 total is a decent workload for the guy. I'm not suggesting the bills shut him down, just being realistic that Fred will get the bulk of the carries.

Spiller will get many more carries..and if he shows some explosion, he will get more..

I offered Spiller for MBIII dangling his upside if Lynch gets traded, but now that Lynch is definitely gone, Im thinking about cancelling the offer :bye:

News came out today that Felix Jones will get more carries. Who knows what this means for Barber but I would tread with caution here.

Fred Jackson is currently on my league's waiver wire. Now that it's just him and Spiller in Buffalo, do you think Fred Jackson is worth rostering more than a back like Brandon Jacobs?
