Bush or SJax long term? (1 Viewer)

Which RB would you rather have beyond this year in a keeper league and why? A league mate and I are debating who has more upside and I am curious as to the consensus on these guys who both seem to be underperforming this year to some extent.

I'm a big Bush fan, but I think SJax is heads-n-shoulders above Bush in terms of FF value. Receiving is the only part of Bush's game which exceeds Jackson's, and Jackson is a great receiver.

Blocking = Jackson

Rushing = Jackson

Goal-line = Jackson

:goodposting: STL is just riddled with injuries. We saw wut SJax can do with a healthy team.. Bush right up there tho.

I would gladly Trade SJax for Bush and a little extra...

Remember... Bush is only 22 yrs old; still a puppy in this league..

in his Rookie yr he had 1300+ total yds, 88 Recs, 8 TDs

This yr, since Duece went down... hes avg 111.5 total and 6.75 recs a game.. at that rate he could be good for close too 1000 total yds and 60 in the 9 games left. 1400 Total yds and 80 recs this yr shouldn't be a problem.

The problem that Bush is encountering is TDs... and the coach isn't helping with these dam pass plays on the GL.

Jackson is the way I lean in the debate as well. This year has not been great but, as pointed out above, St. Louis (and Jackson himself) has been hammered with injuries. As far as age goes, SJax just turned 24 so Bush has him by less than 2 years. My feeling is that Jackson is much more proven than Bush when the situation is decent. That is the big question as far as I'm cncerned. Who's situation will be better long-term? these things changes from year to year and either team could be an injury or player or two away from a turnaround in either direction.

I don't think Bush will be an effective everydown back - he's much better suited to getting out in space, with a bruising RB to complement him.

Jackson may be having a down year, but has shown he's fully capable of being an everydown back, and a better short yardage runner.

Barrying anytype of serious injury to Reggie or sometype of major comeback by the Rams..... Bush will be drafted ahead of SJax in 90% of Dynasty and Redrafts next yr

If the SJax owner offered him for my Reggie Bush this off-season: i would turn him down

He will? Im in a PPR and i still take Jackson over Bush. He did score OVER 400pts in a PPR in 06. Bush wasnt close. to me i like Bush but he ISNT a #1 fantasy RB. If Reggie EVER puts up those stats i may consider him but at this point he is a 2nd round pick. I need 12 tds ATLEAST ...

Bush has been top 5 in PPR scoring since taking the Full-load (hes actually been out scoring ADP); and the team is doing great since he became the Fulltime back... I would bet that 75% of SJax owners would trade him straight up for Reggie during this off-season.

put me in the 25% that wouldn't, I don't own either of these guys but bush will always be in some sort of RBBC imo, jackson won't...I would take jackson over bush next year in a redraft also...

SJax no doubt. Bush is a nice player in PPR leagues, but he's basically a souped-up Eric Metcalf. Which RB is more likely to have 1500 rushing yds and 15 TDs? I would say Sjax hands down....

S-Jax is the better bet for both dynasty and redraft going into next season.

Not this SJax owner

Why; Reggie seems to be improving everyweek.. meanwhile the Rams are going down hill and their taking SJax with them.

I actually traded Bush and Housh for Sjax and Megatron in a redraft league this year. I loved it at the time but I will now file it under the "worst trade ive ever made" pile.

But I would say that they seem to be fairly equal (not this year, Bush has been very good) And next year I would again go for Sjax. If SJax is healthy, I would definitely go with him. He is good for 1200-1300 and 8 with 60+ receptions. Not that Bush is far behind, though.

Hold on now;I used to think that Bush wouldn't be a good short yardage guy too... until I did the homework *Reggie is 3 for 4 in the GL (with in 3 yds from the GL), that is 2nd best in the NFC and tied for 3rd in the NFL; as I recall your boy SJax was terrible in the GL last yr.

* Reggie is a perfect 9 for 9 on 3rd down /<3yds

so lets review

Blocking = Jackson

Rushing = Jackson (not by much)

Goal-line = Bush

Recs = Bush

I think Jackson is more capable of a huge year or two than Bush is, but I think Bush ultimately has the more consistently productive career.

Until a monsterous 2006, I just never felt that Jackson could stay healthy as he always seemed to be plagued by some sort of nagging injury. I think he has far greater injury concerns than Bush, which is why I lean towards Bush in a ppr. Non-ppr I would lean slightly in favor of Jackson simply because he can be that workhorse that carries you to a title on his own.

F&L, I respect your opinions and I usually refer to your dynasty chart when I make trade offer...But I'm going to Sig this statement as a reminder to me that most of the posters here disagreed with me on this going into week 10 of 2007..

so this is in no way disrespect to you.

I actually made a trade offer to the SJax owner in my league, and my offer was Bush plus another player (D Foster FWIW) and he turned it down. He has ZERO RBs outside of SJax.

Too many people knock Bush for his size, but he is very good at the GL. Very good.

be thankful...I think most SJax owners are going to be blinded by those 2006#s and that some of them spent a 32 pick on him... it reminds a little of Jamal Lewis the year he broke 2000 yds.I mean they both should be picked in the top 6 or 7 backs... Just I believe Bush will be valued a hair more.
