Buy, Sell or Hold ... Terrell Owens (1 Viewer)

I know I am probably going to get killed for posting another TO thread but hopefully people will actually talk about his FANTASY FOOTBALL value and not their opinion of him personally.

That being said...

After his 3 TD performance against a pathetic Houston defense, are you all selling him as fast as you can or do you see this as a sign of good things to come?

Again... please keep this thread in Fantasy Football context and not personal feelings

A pertinent thread.

I know that I shopped Owens heavily this weekend before the games as "reports" that Tuna had reached his breaking point had surfaced. Now I didn't try to sell him at a discount but was offering Owens + Maurice Drew for guys like Chad Johnson, Harrison, Holt and Boldin and was 0-for-4 in that regard.

For me he is a "hold". While I would still glady do a trade like any of the above, I will not give him away for lesser WR's like Chambers, SMoss, Branch or Ward as I think Owens' upside is much higher and one need's to take a certain amount of risk to win fantasy championships.

I live in the Northeast and I know Tuna's act all too well from NY and NE. I'm sure that Tuna told some "confidante" that he'd "had it" with the Owens' Soap Opera. However, what not one person mentioned on the 6 pages of the now-locked Owens thread from the weekend, is that Tuna changes his friggin mind all the time! Don't believe me, go ask Belicek, who the Tuna told a different story to depending upon what day it was relative to his "retirment plans" and "succession planning" for gigs with the Giants, Pats and JETS.

All is well (FOR NOW). I'd hold unless you can trade him for "comparable value" (with lower risk).

In a redraft league or if you are a strong contender in a dynasty I say hold. In a dynasty league where you may not have the horses to win it all.....I would be shopping him.

I really like Dallas' schedule. The D's they play have not been very tough against the pass. I say hold him.

I bought him last week :banned: and it's unlikely that I would sell now unless I was getting a similar top-10 talent WR in the trade.
Same here, Gave Deuce and G. Jennings for T.O. and Addai last week. Was just offered Maroney and H. Ward for the same pair (TO,Addai)--after thinking it over-- No DealI don't think he'll get 3 td's very often but the 3rd was in trash time with Romo at QB, so I think T.O. may become a larger part of the offense for the remainder of the season.

I too just bought him last week. In a dynasty gave up my #1 for TO and a #3(already had 2-#1's). Not sure I will sell yet unless a blockbuster offer blows me away. Definitely was a Buy Low(in hindsight). He missed most of camp and is now getting his work in with bledsoe. Greener pastures lie ahead.

I'm thinking SELL HIGH, but only for the RIGHT price. I have been talking to the Larry Johnson owner in my league (who also likes my 4th WR - Colston). He has asked for Rudi, T.O. and Colston in exchange for L.J., H. Ward and T. Taylor. After seeing H. Ward look better this weekend, I'm considering it.

T.O. is likely to catch 4 balls for 35 yards, 0 TD's next week, get mad and lose all the momentum he has for a current SELL HIGH.

Lots of good advice I like here.

1) If you're really in the title hunt and want to take a gamble for the win, I'd hold. I really like this thinking.

2) If you don't have the stomache to have this potentially blow up in your face, now may be the perfect time to sell for another top 10 WR with less baggage.

3) In dynasty, I'd be shopping him everywhere for any kind of decent package. We all know something is coming at some point this season or early next to get him the boot, or to have him playing with a very inexperienced QB. I'd be looking to sell him to someone wanting to take a gamble on the title.

The only problem you may have is people wanting to wait another week to make sure this isn't a fluke game or see if the problems with the coaches continue. I'd be making it clear that if he does well next week against the Giants, the price is going up again.

i think he's more likely to go 8-105-2, at which point you could sell him for all but a select few.

Another outstanding game is certainly a good possibility against the Giants secondary - but will Bledsoe have time now that the Giants have re-discovered their pass rush? Monday night - in front of the whole nation - is a huge stage to either increase T.O's value as a SELL HIGH or totally ruin T.O.'s trade value if he implodes.

To quote Howie M., " .............DEAL, or NO DEAL"

In most cases he's probably worth more to keep on your team than it is to deal him. He's got the ability to single handedly win you a game but his track record of erratic behavior will result in subpar value coming back since many owners don't like him/don't want to take the risk that he could be shut down for the season at any point. He's kind of like trading a player with a huge injury risk, he could work out great or could reinjure himself at any point and be done for the year.
