Bye Week Blues (1 Viewer)

The first three weeks of fantasy football can be a total fluke. I see great teams on paper start of 1-2 or 0-3 because they run into buzzsaws. I see teams start 3-0 or 2-1 that have mediocre rosters.

Weeks 4-10 can make or your break your season depending on depth and injuries.

Are you in good shape or bad shape heading into bye weeks?

0-3 in my Dynasty IDP League. Good news is my bench is one of the highest scoring in the league, so as long as the rest of my league comes down to my level after injuries I should be in good shape...

I thought I was in good shape until Jahvid Best and Ray Rice both got hurt yesterday. Now, I'm looking at starting C.J. Spiller and Michael Bush as my two running backs if neither can go next week.

I would say it's pretty bad. I've also got Miles Austin and Cadillac Williams on a bye next week, which doesn't help matters.

I'm 2-1 now, so I'm just hoping that some things will turn around by the time I drop to 2-4 or something terrible.

2-1 with the consensus top team in my league going into week 3...but this last week was a killer.

Lost Reggie, my #3 on Monday night. Lost Moreno, my #2 on Friday. Andre is nicked going into the week and though he will likely play, he is slowed. Miles Austin is on a bye, as are Barber and Felix Jones.

I got problems.

I've got a tough week coming up vs. the only other 3-0 team in my league. The guy is just crushing the league in points. Set a league record in points this week (Vick/Roddy/Boldin/Peterson/Foster). I'm fine after week 4 as my team is pretty deep, but this week is just a bad one. Romo on bye (looks like Henne vs. NE is my best option). 2rb/flex league. Charles on bye and Best hurt. I'm looking at a RB group of Gore/Hillis/Portis, which isn't terrible..

Good news is my opponent has AP on bye and so is starting Mike Bush and Kevin Walter... bad news is that my opponent has Vick.

this is one of the reasons IMO that it is still ok to go "old school" and draft depth early at RB......in many of my leagues I can start 3 RB with the flex so I usually carry 4-5 strong RB's.....I prefer to have my flex be a RB....helps cover bye weeks and injuries....have a feeling this year more than any other bye weeks will be a major issue for owners especially those weeks coming up with 6 teams on bye......if you didn't look/plan ahead at your draft, it might be too late, but there may still be time to cover your butt with guys like Morris, BJGE, etc.....also guys with week 10 byes could help fill some holes during the bye weeks....Betts, Kuhn, Sproles, etc......
