So does Byron resume his starting duties next week after a less than stellar performance by Garrard?

Garrard played very well. It was extremely windy that day, and he managed the game well, and ran for yards on key downs. Some of his receivers had the drops.

Thanks for the info. Sometimes stats don't tell the whole story.

Byron Leftwich (ankle) was downgraded to questionable after missing practice Thursday. David Garrard is likely to start in Week 9.

Garrard took all the first-team snaps Thursday and told the Jaguars' official team site that even before practice he'd been given "subtle hints" that he'd be Jacksonville's starter this week, regardless of Leftwich's status. Garrard is a fine fantasy start this week vs. the Titans.

David Garrard expects to be the starting quarterback when the Jaguars host the Tennessee Titans this Sunday at Alltel Stadium.

“I took all of the snaps. I'm assuming that means I'm going to start,” Garrard told reporters after practice on Thursday.

Garrard replaced Byron Leftwich as the Jaguars' starting quarterback in Philadelphia last Sunday and delivered a 13-6 win. Leftwich is nursing a sprained left ankle and was listed as “probable” on the Jaguars injury report when it was released on Wednesday. He was downgraded to “questionable” on Thursday and did not participate in practice.

“I'm thinking if I could win the ballgame it would get us one game closer to the playoffs,” Garrard said of his thoughts in preparing to play the Titans. “I've wanted to start ever since I've been here. I want to start.”

Coach Jack Del Rio has intimated that Leftwich is still the Jaguars' official “starting quarterback.” Garrard said he was given “subtle hints” that he would be the starter “before practice.”

relax, Legion... copied this from Rotoworld (which did link to your Jags/com link). Went back to a thread that already existed from a while ago and posted. If somebody had done a search (not you) then we wouldn't have two threads.

It's OK if important news gets posted twice within 5 minutes of each other, IMHO.
