C Benson's value to those that own T Jones (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to bolster my roster in some other areas, and one possible trading partner is the owner of T Jones. If you are a T Jones owner, what value would you put on C Benson if you didn't own him?

Good question. As a TJ owner I was thinking of making an offer to get Benson.

Right now I think I would have to over pay to get him. I think waiting a week or 2 will bring the price down on Benson. TJ against the packs D = money and then the following week against Detriot.

Even if Benson gets some good reps in those 2 weeks, I don't see his value going higher than it is right now.

Agreed, right now a T. Jones owner will have to overpay for Benson. Would you deal him for a player that would be a backup on your team? That doesn't seem worth it as the Benson owner. But I'm not sure the Jones owner will give you a starting fantasy WR for Benson.

I have Jones and Benson was snagged a few picks before I was going to take him. Interesting thing is I chose BarberIII before that and the owner that took Benson has Julius Jones. We've already discussed a swap, but I think BarberIII >> Benson.

As the TJ owner, expect to have to overpay fo benson regardless of whether you make the deal now or later in the season (as long as benson is owned). It may be to your advantage to overpay slightly for him now before the start of season than after the first few games... it seems as though benson is healthy enough to play and will probably get a few carries in the coming gamesedited to add...Regardless, acquiring benson is a "must" for TJ owners IMHO

I don't think Benson has much value right now, at least in my league

I took Benson in the 8th rd in a Chicago homer league, and people thought that was early. Jones went in the 4th. Most Bears fans are convinced the running game will be just like 05'. I'll wait until Benson starts cutting into Jones's time or starts to take over before trying to get anything.

What is considered overpay though? I guess I'm looking for a hard number here (overall draft number or subsequent player).

If he was drafted in the 8th, should the T Jones owner expect to give up round 7 material, ealier, or later, etc.

Dynasty or Re-draft?

I own Jones in two leagues, one of which is a dynasty league.

His value to his owner in the dynasty league is way more than I'd consider worthwhile. To get him, it would take another young starting RB, so why bother?

In the redraft league, I got Jones in the 5th and wasn't going to take Benson unless he fell to the 9th. He didn't. I wouldn't consider trading anyone I current have penciled in as a starter to get him. If I have a bench player good enough that he'd start for the other team, I'd probably offer that player, or maybe a little more, but it won't be enough. People who own Benson believe he'll be the starter sometime this year, and that's the kind of value they want in return - that's not worth doing, at least not to me.

I'm perfectly content having Jones with no Benson, because I don't believe Benson will be the starter this year unless Jones gets injured, is ineffective, or the Bears fall out of the race. I expect Benson to get around 8 -12 carries per game with Jones getting around 18-20 carries and a few receptions.
