Hes actually put up very similar #s to Ellsbury in the minors. Hes a great OBP guy but not much of a power threat.

5 days/week? I know there was someone on here proclaiming Melk as the future preseason and we all (rightfully) laughed at him, but has he really been that bad? I'd love to add another speedy OF option to play when he gets favorable matchups against righties.I reviewed his minor league stats, must say I love the K/BB and contact rates, looks like he'd fit in perfectly in the 9 hole as a "second leadoff bat." A quality source of avg and sb and avg R production.

I dont know if Id waste a high waiver spot on him. He will help in steals but thats about it. Got his first hit and 2nd SB of the season tonight.
