Dolphins WR Chambers yanked from first-team offense

Wide receiver Chris Chambers was yanked from the first-team offense at one point during minicamp because Cameron was unhappy with his per-formance. That was an eye-opener for Chambers, who should be better utilized by Cameron. The Dolphins already are trying to find mismatches by calling plays with Chambers in the slot, which is something former offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey didn't do last season.

Dolphins RB Brown, DT Wright show up overweight

The reason for Dolphins coach Cam Cameron's Thursday firing of running backs coach Bobby Williams remains unclear. But it's believed Ronnie Brown didn't help Williams' cause by being over his target weight at last weekend's minicamp and fumbling during one of the sessions.

Defensive tackle Manny Wright also was 15 pounds above his target weight of 330 pounds. Considering the Dolphins are giving him a second chance after he walked out on the team during last year's training camp, Wright should have reported in tip-top shape to offseason workouts.

Granted the QB situation was iffy last year but I was really unimpressed with Chambers. He just didn't seem to be going all out. One thing I noticed with him is you can always tell if Miami is going to run the ball by watching him right at the snap. If's it a running play he dogs it off the line and is in no rush to block.

Good observation if that is the case. I do not get the chance to see plaly very often, the last time I really examined Chambers play was in 2003 when he lit up Dallas on Thanksgiving for 3 tds. He looked athletic and fast beyond belief (and made hellu-catches). Maybe that was a once in a lifetime performance. I can't believe he doesn't have the ability, but maybe he doesn't have the heart. In regards to Ronnie Brown, he doesn't seem like the type to come into camp over weight. I am trying to get good value for him in a dynasty league right now. He runs hard, but his inability to make something out of nothing (lateral movement) will always limit him. Sometimes I wonder how I can become a scout myself. AKA - why the obvious is being overlooked and combine numbers are put at the forefront.MIAMI = fanttasy trouble in 07 IMO (not that is a major prediction)

Wasn't Manny Wright a supplemental pick? Too bad they can't just say "see ya" and get their pick back.

"poor guy" has to work hard for a couple mil a year.....geesh

Being overweight and not hitting your target weight are 2 different things.

Example: Brown could be a rock solid 230lbs and the Dolphins wanted him in camp at 225lbs. So he didn't hit his target weight. That doesn't mean he's overweight (in terms of being out of shape).
