Can someone explain why the NBA is entertaining? (1 Viewer)

The league gives direction to the officials presumably based on what is discussed in the owner's meetings.
The owners meetings? Would you deny that the league hasn't contacted officials in the middle of a playoff series because they would like to see certain rules enforced differently? And coincidentally the rules that would be enforced might coincidentally lead to a few star players playing in more playoff games if they were enforced differently?

When you think about it they are effecting the outcome of a matchup in the playoffs the same was as if the NFL contacted the refs between the 3rd and 4th quarter of a playoff game to comment on how the game is being officiated.

Dentist still butthurt over some poker beat he took 10 years ago, so he finds a way to turn every discussion into a bad beat story
Life is a bad beat, we're all just living it.

In before someone says, oh you think you've got it rough?  Now imagine you live in somalia or something.

The problem is, when I watch March Madness certain refs don't stand out like a sore thumb. Certain players don't seem to get every single call the way they do in the NBA. That's why the whole, "Well calls are subjective, that's basketball, can't be fixed" just doesn't hold water with me. The star players literally run the NBA. It's been like that forever. I can still remember when Barkley through a tantrum because the "horrible" replacement ref's called traveling...... ya know, cos he ummmm traveled.
Oh, you mean you don't notice it based upon your handful of observations during the one and done tournament you watch once a year?

Sorry, I didn't realize we were getting so scientific with this analysis.

Yes, it's very weird how the strongest, fastest and most talented players, who also have the highest usage rates, seem to get the most calls.  Must be an officiating conspiracy, no other possible explanation.

Is this type of response standard operating procedure for you in real life? I'd imagine people that are unfortunately forced to interact with you have to find you a touch on the passive aggressive annoying side.
