I was at the Montreal vs. Calgary game last night. Poor showing by Calgary as they open their Grey Cup defense with a 40-27 loss.

On an interesting side note, Montreal's starting QB Anthony Calvillo isn't very mobile, so they inserted QB Adrian McPherson in for short yardage running plays. McPherson was the former Saints QB who was run over by the Titans mascot in 2006.

Wait... The infamous @Faust is a fellow Calgarian?

I tend to follow a line north from the Twin Cities and pull for Winnipeg. Bud Grant connection too I suppose. It does feel like there's an NFL-like ambience to games played in Winnipeg and Saskatchewan.

Do Canadian fans also look directly south for their NFL team?

I love watching the CFL. I just wish there was more awareness of CFL+, if it was streamed on a major platform I think it would be more popular.

When I lived in Detroit I would watch sports on CBC (Windsor 9) all the time. Hockey Night in Canada in the 90s with Don Cherry was awesome. Watched the 1996 & 1998 Olympic coverage exclusively on CBC, so much better than the American broadcast.

Extended highlights on youtube isn't a bad way to follow it without much of a time commitment. It's actually reached a point where that's the only way I can follow NBA and NHL for 82 games.
