SUPER ELITE UPPER TIER
Got my cast off last Friday and I am less than two weeks away from driving again. WOO HOO!

So I decided to go out in the driveway and start my car up to make sure it still started. It did. No issues. I decided to drive it down to the end of the street and back, just to let it run for a little bit.

That's when the issue started. As I let off the gas and started coasting down the street, a thumping sound started coming from the back off my car. It actually sounded like a flat tire. The dashboard indicator didn't come on saying low tire pressure, but I got out and checked just to be sure. All the tires looked fine. I got back in the car and drove it around a couple blocks (maybe about a half mile) and each time I let off the gas or applied the brakes (I guess that's letting off the gas, too), there was a thumping sound coming from the back of my car. No clue what it is.

The car has been sitting in the driveway for 6 weeks. Hasn't been moved or turned on the entire time.

Any ideas what could be causing that sound? Will it go away? Or do I need to go get it checked up? I did some quick research on the internet and one thought is that it could be the brake pads. I just don't understand how something goes bad on a car when it's NOT being used.

TIA
TIS

Rust on the rear brakes from sitting... the "thumping" sound is because it's riding on rust for 90% of the way around, then hitting the shiny spot where your pads were sitting against it for 6-weeks...

Go all Dukes of Hazzard with it and it should be good to go... :drive:

Thanks.
