Carl Crawford (1 Viewer)

Hey Cap, I'm in an AL only league and have been offered Crawford and CC. I was wondering what his contract status is and if Tampa has any plans on dealing him. Because if he signs or gets dealt to the NL, then I lose him for nothing and the trade is alot worse without him. Any info would be appreciated.

TIA

Won't be going anywhere until at least '10, unless the front office loses its mind.

There were some small rumors of it this past offseason, but they've been all shot down, and were all pretty ridiculous to begin with (Ervin Santana for Carl :goodposting: )

I'd say you can be sure that Crawford is going nowhere but if you would like to wait for Cappy to call his mole in the TB front office, be my guest.

Thanks fellas, I recalled hearing the trade rumors a while back and wanted to be sure he still wasn't being shopped. THANKS!

:goodposting:

ETA: I'm working a deal to trade Grady, Jered Weaver, and a pick for CC and Crawford.

At some point common sense has to be a consideration, doesnt it?
Common sense goes out the window though when it involves the Rays. ;)
You know their history better than I. Have they made bad trades? Their highest profile trade was getting Kazmir for Zambrano that looks great although Kazmir hasnt exactly lit the world on fire this year.

LOL, that's what scares me!! They have alot of OF's and could get a boatload for Carl.

Dukes is dead to the franchise and Rocco will likely be moved in an offseason deal, or an outside chance of 1B. Probably the former. Either way, the OF for the future is Carl-BJ-Delmon, from left to right. No worries about Carl getting moved.

It's more of a) players not quite developing as fast as some people thought; b) the dreaded injury excuse (BJ, Rocco namely); c) just about every important contributor is young and bound to have bad spells and d) the worst bullpen in the majors, save Al Reyes. Really more than anything it's the bully. It's cost them at least 10-15 wins this year, and that's being soft. Once they get that cleaned up and all these young guys get up, they'll be a pretty good team. I was bullish on 08 being a big year, but guys like Niemann and Longoria will still be rookies and BJ, Delmon, Aki will all just be in their second years. I think they'll be a playoff contender in 09, if things fall into place like they did for a team like Detroit. And really, no, they haven't made any bad trades. Actually some great FA signings lately with Reyes and Pena, and stole Brendon Harris from the Reds.
