Carolina Inactives

Summary: QB Matt Moore (3rd QB), WR Dwayne Jarrett, G Evan Mathis, T Frank Omiyale, DE Charles Johnson, DE Otis Grigsby, LB Dan Morgan, LB Adam Seward

Showing probable but team decision at game time. But there was a short video piece on ESPN of him warming up.

I posted on inactives. ESPN just scrolled he was out. Def Carolina Smith they said.

Then CBS has a live report from the game as players are in the background warming up, and they don't even mention Smith.

I think some intern at ESPN has gotten Giants Steve Smith and Panthers Smith mixed up

I almost wish they had put him on the bench now, I could have started someone that might have had more than two catches.

2 catches in the 1st quarter from Vinny, nothing for the rest of the game. Carr is the worst QB I have ever watched in my life. 28 years, I have never seen a worse QB. Unbelievable. Ugh, he looks at one guy every play, and it's usually the RB or TE. I think maybe he can't see more than 8 yards. He may not have even known Smith was playing today.

A pretty damn good summary of his 5 years in Houston

You might want to watch a Vikings game

Steve Smith owner here... Next week I'm playing Ike Hillard, Andre Davis, or C. Henry when the suspension is over...

Thank goodness Braylon Edwards and Housh bailed me out...

as long as David Carr is the QB, Smith and any Panther WR is pretty much worthless. With the first sign of pressure, he either takes off running or throws it to the closest TE or RB in site, whether they are open or not...He should be paying the Panthers to let him wear a jersey and call himself a football player.

And it didn't sit well with Carolina receiver Steve Smith. Held without a catch after the opening drive, Smith was seen screaming at Carr on the sidelines late in the game.

"I'm trying to get him the football. And he's not necessarily concerned about himself getting the football," Carr said of Smith. "He just wants our team to be better. I just went up to him and said, 'If there's anything I can do that you see from the wide receiver position that can make us a better team, then let me know.' We just got talking because we're too old to keep secrets from each other. And he's not like that at all. He'll tell you straight up."

Smith, held to two catches for 18 yards, did not speak to reporters after the game.

I watched some of the game, and I didn't see Carr target Smith very much at all. I curious of the actual number of times, off to check the play by play. Carr is horrible

1 target from Carr to Steve Smith...Carr is an idiot.

I didn't see the game, but figured Carolina would be losing in this game and throwing (to Smith).. Was he doubled the entire half (anybody see the game)? or is Carr just a moron..

I knew he was bad in houston (Carr), but how do you not try to get one of the best wr in the game the ball.. even throwing it out on a wr screen to see if he can break a tackle and go...

Killed me this week, 2 pts.. :goodposting:

"I'm trying to get him the football. I know most quarterbacks would actually look in his direction and throw him the ball as a way to try and get him the football. But my style is to look the other way and completely ignore him. That way, the defense is fooled into thinking I'm not trying to get him the football. And then when they fall for that I still don't throw to him and either run with the ball, throw to my tight end, throw to a running back, run with the ball or throw to my tight end. That's how I'm trying to get Steve the football."
Fixed.

wtf ????

Dear Lord. What is going on with these quotes? Are they real? They are so outlandish they don't seem possible. Is Carr THAT asinine.

Was he doubled the entire half (anybody see the game)? or is Carr just a moron..
The latter.Even if the Colts had four defenders on Smith there's no way Carr could have known that given how he looked Smith's direction a whopping two times in the entire second half. That's it. He threw him one pass which was a horribly thrown ball when Smith was open. The second time he glanced briefly to Smith's side and then quickly scrambled to the right side of the field. I don't know what Carr could have even seen on Smith's side of the field given how quickly he looked in that direction. The guy is truly an absolutely pathetic QB. I'm not sure how you can play one half of a game and not even try and get the ball to your team's top playmaker. I do think it's safe to say he started Jeff King in his PPR league today, though.

lolnice one

Carr's an awful starting NFL QB. Vinny wasn't great today, but he's light-years ahead of Carr as a QB.

Whenever there's a poll question on which losing team has the best chance of making the playoffs, I always vote for the Saints - and a large reason for that is because I don't think a team QB'd by David Carr will go anywhere - and someone has to win the NFC South.

You can just say "Carr scrambled" and everyone who is familiar with him will know which way he went. :goodposting:
