Hopefully this means the Dodgers will be able to trade La Roche and someone else in a bigger deal. Otherwise, I don't see this move getting the Dodgers the NL West title. Meloan has a power arm - it looks like the Dodgers were trying to make him a starter at AAA this year, and he's struggled with it. That is surprising considering many people considered him a future set-up guy/closer. His previous seasons he relieved and had a great K/BB ratio. Don't know much about the catcher prospect they gave up.

Dodger fans should be happy. Blake is a nice player who can plug in at 1B, 3B, and the corner OF spots. He also hits well, especially in the clutch.
I would think this trade would take pressure off the Dodgers to find a SS with a bat since Blake can give it to them from third.
