Not much profit potential here, but he's safe...if you like that sorta thing. He'll never be great, but he'll put up decent numbers as long as he has an everyday role. His name's not an interesting one like Pedro Alvarez, Pablo Sandoval, and Aramis Ramirez because they have a lot more upside, which is why I'll take them first but there's a pretty good chance he out produces them.

I think there's some prejudice against guys like McGehee who've worked their way through the minors and hit the bigs at a relatively advanced age. Fantasy owners tend to flock to the next toolsy hot prospect over guys like McGehee who are always too old for their minor league level.
He's now 28 and probably doesn't have any upside left. But he has 1 2/3 seasons on his resume where he's hit well enough to hold down a corner infield position. He started 2010 very hot but his first and second half splits were pretty consistent. His 2009 breakout looked BABIP aided but that normalized itself last year. I hope he sticks around long enough to get a big contract.
