Gaffney makes three catches Updated 11/19/07

Gaffney, Jabar WR NE

News: Patriots WR Jabar Gaffney had three catches for 44 yards in Week 11 at Buffalo. Analysis: Gaffney is currently buried in the Patriots' depth chart and is not a player worth activating in Fantasy play. Leave him on the waiver wire until further notice.

Gaffney comes up huge in Week 12 Updated 11/26/07

Gaffney, Jabar WR NE

News: On a retooled offense stacked with wide receivers, little-used Jabar Gaffney played perhaps the biggest of them all for the Patriots in Week 12 against the Eagles. He caught six passes for 87 yards, including 19 on a touchdown strike in the second quarter. Analysis: Gaffney entered the game with 142 yards receiving on the season, so we tend to write off Sunday's performance as a fluke. He still has to contend with Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Donte' Stallworth for receptions, and he'll lose that battle 15 times out of 16. Leave him on waivers in all but the deepest of Fantasy leagues for Week 13 at Baltimore.

Gaffney's eight-yard TD wins game Updated 12/4/07

Gaffney, Jabar WR NE

News: Despite not living up to his 87-yard performance from a week ago, Patriots WR Jabar Gaffney played the role of hero Week 13 at Baltimore. He helped preserve the team's undefeated season when Tom Brady hit him for an 8-yard touchdown pass with 44 seconds to give the Patriots the lead. "I told him it was the best catch of his career and it was a great time to do it, " Brady said of Gaffney's lone reception. Analysis: Fantasy owners don't really care when players catch their passes, just that they catch them, and one grab -- even if it went for a touchdown -- isn't enough to inspire confidence in Gaffney for future Fantasy production. Leave him on the waiver wire for Week 14 against the Steelers.

Gaffney scores again Updated 12/9/07

Gaffney, Jabar WR NE

News: Patriots WR Jabar Gaffney had seven catches for 122 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Steelers. Analysis: We've been telling you for weeks to add Gaffney, and he continues to produce. This is the third week in a row he has caught a touchdown pass, and he has surpassed Donte Stallworth as the third WR for the Patriots. Look for him to continue playing well in Week 15 against the Jets.

Wow, that's just bad. :excited: The only thing I can think of is that the last comment left must've been some other staffer who added his comments to a string of comments from prior weeks by someone else. Still, that looks horrible.

Sadly, my degree of apathy for cbs content prevents me from right action, which is to forward this to cbs with a request for increased quality control.

Excellent stuff Dancer.

When reading "expert" advice it would be nice to know the fantasy rosters of those giving advice.

:thumbdown:This is awesome. Nicely done.
Nice investigative work. Sites need to own up.I grabbed him off Waivers...going to start him over SSmith, Boldin, Cotchery... anyone else gotta 'going to start him over..."?

the kiss of death^^

I'm actually worried we'll see more maroney and less spread wr's against the jets.

Off waivers the past 2 weeks in 2 leagues.1. Over S. Moss - a.k.a. the invisible man (w/ Hackett still out - hanging on to hope for the finals if I make it).2. Over Javon, Hilliard, DJax (of course) and some other *developmental* dynasty guys. If Hilliard wasn't dinged, I'd probably have gone there - and still may if the weather is brutal pre-game.

I say this every year, but the worse the advice is on CBS, the more I'll stick with them. Let my leaguemates get these gems.
