Gaffney comes up huge in Week 12 Updated 11/26/07
Gaffney, Jabar WR NE
News: On a retooled offense stacked with wide receivers, little-used Jabar Gaffney played perhaps the biggest of them all for the Patriots in Week 12 against the Eagles. He caught six passes for 87 yards, including 19 on a touchdown strike in the second quarter. Analysis: Gaffney entered the game with 142 yards receiving on the season, so we tend to write off Sunday's performance as a fluke. He still has to contend with Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Donte' Stallworth for receptions, and he'll lose that battle 15 times out of 16. Leave him on waivers in all but the deepest of Fantasy leagues for Week 13 at Baltimore.
Gaffney's eight-yard TD wins game Updated 12/4/07
Gaffney, Jabar WR NE
News: Despite not living up to his 87-yard performance from a week ago, Patriots WR Jabar Gaffney played the role of hero Week 13 at Baltimore. He helped preserve the team's undefeated season when Tom Brady hit him for an 8-yard touchdown pass with 44 seconds to give the Patriots the lead. "I told him it was the best catch of his career and it was a great time to do it, " Brady said of Gaffney's lone reception. Analysis: Fantasy owners don't really care when players catch their passes, just that they catch them, and one grab -- even if it went for a touchdown -- isn't enough to inspire confidence in Gaffney for future Fantasy production. Leave him on the waiver wire for Week 14 against the Steelers.

News: Patriots WR Jabar Gaffney had seven catches for 122 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Steelers. Analysis: We've been telling you for weeks to add Gaffney, and he continues to produce. This is the third week in a row he has caught a touchdown pass, and he has surpassed Donte Stallworth as the third WR for the Patriots. Look for him to continue playing well in Week 15 against the Jets.
