CBS Sportsline promotional codes (1 Viewer)

An unbelievably detailed statistics library for virtually any stat that you can think of is certainly one and one reason why I along with the majority of my league owners are unwilling to move to another site. $10 per owner is extremely reasonable and the easy to use stats for virtually any situation is incredible. In addition, you can put virtually anything (Power Ranking, Standings, all stats, etc.) into an excel database which is also exceptional.Just one guy's take.
Agreed. The Breakdown feature shows the records vs league opponents over the entire season(so you can see what your record would be if you played everyone each week). This will be our 6th year. The Record Book stats is also cool. It keeps high/low point games/season as well as winning/losing streaks etc. I may be biased as I just reeled off 9 in a row to win my league last year, setting the record for most wins, most points, highest winning pct, longest winning streak etc. and so on and so forth. The fact that every other owner sees those same records with my name on them is just incredible. The records are also customizable so if you want to put one in then you can add it.

Holy crap I can't believe this thread has gone on for this long! And not even on topic. So I'll just pile on! :) Why not? :) I've been on CBS for 5 years. Never had a problem (nor did the other 9 owners) but I did find the customer service slow. I think it's great and I wouldn't move. The other sites just look cheap by comparison. I think the opinions of "Bait & Switch" are funny. Unless you've got some hard evidence on CBS stationary stating these malicious goals, the opinions on the subject are hearsay at best. Maybe they went out and bought 20 new dual Xeon servers or better yet, a 5 terrabyte fibrechannel and a staff of 100! I do know that if you added up all the people that had a problem with Sportsline you may exceed the number of active fantasy players on other sites. We're talking millions of people. Are we actually saying that they are all morons for choosing CBS? As for promo codes, I usually find a 10% off deal in a fantasy mag but I haven't bought one this year yet. I'm done now. Think I'll go back to the grassy knoll and have a beer. :)

Soprtsline is way way way too expensive for what you get. You might try www.fanball.com as a much cheaper alternative. I switched a league over last year with almost no issues (just some training on waivers was needed).
Fanball is fine as long as you don't mind waiting of your live scoring. Last year mine was constantly locked up.

:goodposting: I was just thinking the same thing.

Unfortunately I don't have a code for ya'll, I just wanted to shake my head at the length of this thread which is 98% off topic. :loco:

This intrigues me.Looks pretty close to cbs. How is the functionality of it? Do you run an Auction or redraft league?
I run a dynasty auction league there with 2 auctions in the offseason(we have to drop players from our team). 1 Auction is for restricted players and then another auction is for all other free agents. Then we have a rookie draft in August.

I also have a 3 keeper league there as well.

I have a MFL league and it just doesn't compare, but the commish is stingy on moving. Some people don't like change I guess.

How is the functionality compared to cbs?How good is the live scoring?

I've never used CBS before, but it's very easy to navigate. The live scoring was spot on. I use it every week and never had a problem, even week 1. It's probably a minute or 2 behind realtime, which is impressive to me. I am guessing that since CBS is linked direct with NFL.com, they may be faster  . Either way the Live stats work for me...Also their support is similar to MFL. Quick answers to questions and I have even seen requests that have been implemented in mid season.

In response to an earlier post asking about CBS features, one feature I love about CBS is the flexibility in posting pictures and things with news articles written by people in the league.

We have a contest in our league to see who can post the best article over the course of the season. The pictures, captions and articles in our league have become some of the best part about doing fantasy football for me. Hysterical stuff.

I also prefer the CBS stats to most others. But it won't work for every league, we use RTSports for one because CBS would not let us have two divisions in one league where each division has a separate draft and RTSports would, so it just depends on the circumstances.

Thanks for the codes!

FBGY2006 from our magazine
Just used that code and with the special, got it down to $116.95.My only problem with sportsline is the price, but at least this

makes it easier to swallow.

Only a couple days left for the free draft board. I used the draft board in 1 of my 3 leagues last year and can't tell you how much it helped out(especially for the commish). Don't sleep on it.

STSM2005

10% off, from Street and Smith's 2005 Yearbook
That one is not currently working. Try PFW2006 (from Pro Football Weekly) and it works. Just renewed today 6-27-06 and I got the $116.95 price (off the 129.95 price).Maggot

I'll guess none of the 2005 codes are good. This thread is over a year old so the early posts may be confusing.

edit.. PFW2006 is dead..

KRPD2006 is alive

:banned:
Just a note that this code worked for me...retroactively. If you have already purchased but want to get some cash back, read on.I had purchased two leagues, then I saw this thread and the code above about three days later. I sent the following to CBS Sportsline's help department:

Dear Sirs,

I have purchased two leagues for the upcoming 2006 season. The league addresses are here:

http://xxxxxxx.football.sportsline.com/

http://xxxxxxx.football.sportsline.com/

They were both paid for on my credit card. I have a promotional code that I was unable to use at the time of purchase, but I wanted to purchase the leagues in time to take advantage of the Free Draft Board offer. I would like a partial refund to my credit card for the promotional code. Otherwise, I can cancel both of the leagues, then sign back up using the promotional code. Here it is:

Promotional code : KRPD2006

Thank you for your help in this matter.
They sent this response:

In order to better serve you, please call our Member Services Department to resolve this issue. A Member Services Specialist will assist you. The number is (877) 266-6474 and is available from 8:00am to 8:00am, EST, Mon-Fri.
I called right away, and they credited me back $13.00 on each league.  The operator asked "Where did you get this code?" I said, "Why? Does it matter?" Her reply- "Ummm, I guess not. You'll get your refund in 5-7 days." :D

I just remember the days that you could play on CBS Sportsline for free. Was a decent one. But it was extremely slow, and customer service was non-existent. Then all of a sudden one year, BAM! No more free leagues, and they jack the price up to play. Errr, no thanks. It was decent, while free, but I wasn't about to dump that kind of $$ into them.

Since then, I've heard some good stories about them. I've heard some bad stories (which apparently sound eerily similar to the same ones I faced with the free CBS leagues).

I've found MFL.com quite easy to navigate and use. And it's nearly half the price of Sportsline for your leagues. I won't knock those who use CBS, but I'll stick with the cheaper alternative that fits my needs, thanks.... :excited:

I'm leaning heavily towards moving a league there this year. I've been curious as to how things go on game days?

Best real-time scoring on the net. I would say it's the most appealing reason to move to Sportsline.

Well not that I think that this thread should turn into a MFL vs. CBS Sportsline debate, but...[temporary hijack] I switched our leagues back to CBS Sportsline this year after having them on MFL last year. Although the price was nice and their customer service was great, I found it clunky to use, and getting our league's customized scoring loaded nearly took an act of God to accomplish. It is true that you can change the layout to nearly anything you want, but if you aren't an accomplished HTML or web design guy (as I am not) it is very generic. Besides, I didn't make the decision by myself to switch back. Our league voted to go back to CBS after only one year at MFL, if that tells you anything. [/temporary hijack]
