Ced. Houston (1 Viewer)

The Jets are expected to pound the ball against the Bills' undersized defensive tackles this Sunday.

Fifth-round rookie Kyle Williams (6-1/295) and Larry Tripplett (6-2/295) are Buffalo's interior tackles. Power back Cedric Houston (6-0/220) is expected to be New York's primary ball carrier Sunday.

Do you think they actually will try to run the ball or are they going to be like most teams and do the exact opposite just to piss fantasy fans off?

I'm going Ced after last week! He could be one of those guys who gets hot late and carries a team to the finals!

yes, he's a great start. The Bills are 29th in rush defense, and Houston is a strong underated rb who will get all the goaline work. Barlow is playing on ST, and doubt he will see much if any action at rb. im projecting 18 carries 115 yds 1-2tds

for someone who doesn't even know that Barlow does NOT play on special teams (which is why he was deactivated last week), i'm not so sure i'd put any weight behind your projections.i do think houston's a nice start this week though.

I am confused. The news blogger has an article posted today about Barlow practicing with the special teams - Do you know different?

from todays NY PostMangini said he's spoken with RB Kevan Barlow, who was left on the inactive list last Sunday, and emphasized that Sunday's lineup isn't forever. Mangini revealed that Barlow practiced on some special teams last week, a first in his career.

"I talked to all those guys," Mangini said. "I talk to the whole team about how each week the roster changes. Your role is going to change, your ability to get in the game is based on not just what you're doing offensively or defensively but what you're doing on special teams.

"Last week [barlow] worked on special teams for the first time in his career, and he was on the show team for punt return. I thought he did a good job."

I expect Barlow to see some action this week on ST against the Bills. Sorry for my ignorance

apologies. this is the first i'm hearing this. which isn't surprising since it just happened for the first time.

carry on.

Rotoworld is reporting that Barlow is likely to be active, and even got time with the ones at practice. This scares me away from Houston quite a bit, because an active Barlow may well take goal line carries away from Cedric. With all three backs possibly active, I think we may need to lower the expectations a bit.

Got times with the ones? How much? Eff. Just when I convinced myself to start Houston...

Barlow won't find the endzone this week

I don't think NY is going to activate all three backs and not give them carries. If Barlow is up on Sunday, you'd have to think you'll see a return to the previous carry distribution, which means that you can't count on Houston to get more than 10-12 carries, with no guarantee that he'll get the goal line looks. This is now a scary situation, IMO.

Houston looks like their best RB. I could easily see him reproducing last week's numbers.
I just don't see how Houston gets 22 carries like he did last week if all three backs are active and splitting time. I'm thinking we see something like 15/60 out of Houston, with Barlow and Washington combining to get the other 15 or so carries. With Barlow a possibility to carry the ball near the GL, I am starting to worry that Houston is going to fail to live up to the high expectations.

Just because a player is active does not mean he will be playing. Since Barlow has been practicing some with the ST unit, he may very well be active for this reason alone. Factor in Houston's power and the alleged soft middle in the BUF DEF and I see quite a bit of value in Houston. All just in time for my playoff run. :banned:

Leon.... Leon likes his touchdowns, he calls his child touchdown Jesus...
hee hee.... ya'll forgettin' 'bout lil Leon. This week is his week, and makes this thing a bigger mess.

I see Houston playing the first half as NY takes control of the game by halftime, 17-7ish and Houston may give up a series or two to LW and/or Barlow in the 2nd half. The good thing is he may already have 70 yds and a TD by halftime.
