I wouldnt get overly excited, it was the Chiefs.

The Chiefs defense is not a bad one.I don't think anyone should be overly excited about the 101 that Benson put up today, but for those who watched the game, it was evident that Benson is the RB for the Bears. Peterson went in for certain passing situations (I distinctly remember a horrible wiff on Napolean Harris that ended in Rex getting sacked for minus 20 yards or so), but outside of that Benson was the one who got all the carries. There is no reason to get excited about Benson, but at the same time he is going to get the carries, so there is no reason to panic either.

i'm of the mind that Benson will pay dividends late in the season when the Bears defense is beating up on teams in the cold and their o-line is leaning on people.

week 1 is always wacky. VERY tough to predict full season stats from one game. give it time.

Week 1 LT- 17 carries for 25 yards

Benson-19 carries for 42 yards

Week 2 LJ- 16 carries for 55 yards

Benson- 24 carries for 101 yards

Those are suppost to be two of the best RB's in the NFL....but Benson still gets no respect for outrushing each of them.

I am talking about the NFL here and not fantasy football....that is why the word RESPECT is out there.....its ok....next time I will try and detail it clearer for you.

As a Benson hater and Owner(yuck), I was somwhat suprised by his performance today, gotta do it a couple of weeks in a row befor I get to up on the Guy. I still think he is a big "P" untill he proves otherwise.

Ced proved today that he is at the very least, serviceable. And a servicable back, running on fresh legs, on a ball-control team with a great D, could be a really good fantasy player.

You do know they play the Lions twice, right?

I'd bench Benson against the Lions. Their defensive line is rock solid when Rogers is in the game. Peterson manufactured some yards on some nice runs, but was otherwise bottled up pretty tightly.

Benson owner here, but that argument doesn't wash for 2 reasons:1) LT and LJ are both proven.2) LT and LJ went against the Bears D. If Benson went against the Bears D, he'd rush 9 times for 11 yards and on the 9th carry go out with an owie (real or imagined).

that's not his point . . . he is just saying that Benson is taking ALOT of flak, when other runners have struggled early in the season . . . for example, where are all the MJD fans??? Ronnie Brown???
