*** Celebration Thread *** (1 Viewer)

Well ... it started off as a "draft strategy thread" before the games started. Where I talked about the strategy that took me to the end in 4 out of 5 leagues.

Then, after going 4 for 4, it only seemed logical to post an update on the 4 leagues that I went to the final games in- suggesting that the strategy actually does work.

That is when I changed the title of the thread ... and it would seem, that is the only line you read.

IF ya don't like it ... don't read it. Oh, and merry christmas ####### :D
Those 6-teamers are quite challenging, I have to admit.

This is my 15-1 team, my other 9-6 team somehow won because the other owner had Palmer & Tomlinson, who both faded down the stretch.QB - Trent GreenWR - Anquan BoldinWR - Chris ChambersWR - Muhsin MuhammedRB - Shaun AlexanderRB - Larry JohnsonTE - Heath MillerBN - Clinton PortisBN - Keyshawn JohnsonBN - Bobby EngramBN - Brad JohnsonBN - Michael BennettK - Jeff WilkinsDEF - CarolinaDEF - St. Louis (picked 'em up for week 16 vs. SF, cost me six fantasy points)I made two trades over the course of the season to the same team, one very good, one..not so good.I got Daunte Culpepper & Heath Miller for Joey Galloway (next week Culpepper went on IR)But the other pretty much won me the championship.I got Larry Johnson & Carolina for Atlanta. w00t, highway robbery right there.

I was losing by .01 point...with 4:56 left in the 4th quarter of Pats - Jets. So while Al Michaels was babbling on about Testaverde's 18-year record, I was just as hoping as bad for him to score. 3rd & 15, I was resigned to losing a painful loss..then whattya know, TOUCHDOWN! TOUCHDOWN!

Well, I'll always remember the last MNF football game for this :D

I'm speechless. It's a message board. We're all champions of our ultra-competitive leagues. I know I am! :moneybag:

I won again....that's 4 out of 6 years in a 12 team league thats very competitive.wow...I guess if you need to put a game in someones hands it might as well be Tom Brady. Superbowl champions in 2000, 2001, 2003, and now in 2005. I would like to name Larry Johnson as my playoff and superbowl MVP. He scored 36, 31, and 31 points in the playoffs. That is unreal. Also a big thanks to the pickup of the year Matt Stover. I had a feeling you would score a bunch of points...and those 12 points were huge.

all 12 team leagues.
Can I join these leagues? How about a link to your drafts so we can see the fish you were swimming with before patting you too hard on the back?

At the last possible moment, I bench McNair in favor of Jamie Martin in my big money league. I don't do that, I lose by 1 point. YIKES!Show me the money!!!! :D

I was in the playoffs in all 3 of my leagues.I was in the championship game in 2 of the leagues.I won 1 of the leagues and *just loss* the other by 1.5 points. All 12 teamers. All competitive. But I drafted RB/RB/WR/WR for themost part in all 3 leagues. I was drafting RBs in 3 out of the first4 rounds the past few years for many of the reasons youmentioned in your original post. I missed the playoffs in all myleagues the last 2 or3 years so I decided to not feel "obligated"to grab my backup RB so early.I'm only mentioning my case since I used to follow a version ofwhat you're doing in the first 4 rounds and it just wasn't workingout. So I took off my RB-colored-glasses this year and made theplayoffs in all 3 leagues. I also got by with marginal #2 RBs sinceI had Deuce is 2 leagues and KJones in the other. But, to be honest,I drafted Michael Clayton in the 4th round in 2 of my leagues so I mightas well have drafted another RB at that slot. Heck, I might as well havedrafted a kicker in the 4th round instead of Clayton and I would've beenbetter off. :)Anyway, I will not criticize you though since I think that it's VERY informativeto see other people's *winning* strategies and I hope the abuse you'retaking doesn't stop you or others from sharing their winning formulas.

as I sing in a druken tone....WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS....OF THE WORLD. I think tonight i will paint the town red with my superbowl win!better yet I think I will just take a shower and go to bed, but that will be the best damn shower I have ever taken.....scoreboard.

I went by that same theory this year as well with a bit of success:one money league I got Tomlinson, Portis, Ju.Jones, Dunn and a flyer on Ronnie Brown (8-teamer) Ended up losing in the first round of the playoffs thanks to bad games by Tomlinson and Palmer. As well, the guy I was facing scored something in the 160s when 120 is considered really good.second money league I went with Deuce, Dom.Davis, Dunn and Anderson but I think winning had more to do with grabbing Chambers and Fitzgerald in the next two rounds and Plummer and Stallworth even later (14-teamer)In the second league, people were trying to trade for RBs earlier in the season but not offering any good WRs. We play 2 RBs and a Flex (where I like to play RBs anyway since they're more consistent than WRs) so I had four guys for three spots on non-bye weeks. When Deuce got hurt, I wasn't struggling to find a replacement since I had already drafted one. I play in the championship game next weekend.

My first year in fantasy football and I went 13-2 and won the superbowl!! :excited: . Starting lineup was patchwork after relying on Edge and Wayne all season.QB: HasslebeckRB: CaddyWR: BoldinTE: TroupeFlex: GoreFlex: M. FaulkFlex: CrockettK: RackersDL: Z. ThomasDB: McGeeDFlex: Urlacher

$ 100.00 antsports redraft - victory point sscoring system.Won my 1st championship this week in head to head match up, but also had High score of the week in the league even though it doesn't matter. Winning line-up was:BreesLarry JohnsonTorry HoltDerrick MasonDrew BennettTony GonzalesShayne GrahamArizaona defenseTotal points - 153.55Duece Mc Allister was my 1st pick from the 5 slot. I took a flier on LJ in the 5th round and that is what propelled me to the Championship. Mike Anderson carried me through. My regular season record was 8-5. the guy who was 13-0 finished in 3rd place. Now depression sets in as I'm finished for the year. It was a fun ride.

Is this a keeper league? Can't see how it's "competitive" if you were able to win it 4 out of 6 years.

Won 1st championship in a FBG league that scores PPR and 2PPR for TE. I won even though I lost Lamont Jordan due to injury, and had to replace him with Bettis. I owe my season to Gates and Barber, the anchors of my team.

:hey: Playing for 3-4 years in 3-4 leagues per year. Won one for first time. And the $300 was cool, too.

congrads  I won my first last year after playing for 7 years, Made it back to the Superbowl this year but came up short. it does feel good to win it all

:hey: Been playing about as long, with fewer leagues up until this season. Already won the first season of my new dynasty/auction league ($850 prize  ) and am in the midst of a combined two-week championship in my main/longest running dynasty league.

I got laughed at when I spoke about the Draft Dominator in the preseason. Being the nice guy that i am, I even told people where to get it. Still, I get mocked for even mentioning this great piece of FFB technology. The funny thing is that my brother and I (the only 2 people to use DD) just faced off in our league championship and I am walking away with $1200 in my pocket. $24.95 gets you $1200, great investment.Coincidence or not? I doubt it.

won my championship with julius peppers and terrence mcgee. Had Hass as QB, galloway. jimmy smith, and engram for WR, and ryan moats, chris brown, jonathon wells at RB. So the RB theory doesnt necessarily work. I drafter RB-RB-WR and my 1.x and 3.x picks were on IR by the 3rd week (deuce and walker). Took westbrook with my 2.x pick and he was hurt.Basically my team was decimated with injuries but I got lucky that galloway emerged as a viable #1 and Hasselbeck finished the FF season strong.

The DD is great, but only as good as the projections you plug into it.
Very true. Plus you were lucky if some of the high profile guys (Culpepper, Horn, etc) did not come out as being the best pick to make.

In my big money league ($850 prize to me) I blew out my opponent by over 100 points. My starting lineup:Carson PalmerLarry JohnsonThomas JonesTorry HoltChad JohnsonAnquan BoldinTony GonzalesLawrence TynesZach Thomas

Hung on to barely win last night - Brady almost beat me, but not quite.BreesL JohnsonR JohnsonK McCardellR MossC CooleyJ BrownThanks for pimping Cooley this preseason, FBG. I had no idea who he was, but ended up as the #4 TE in my league. I got him in the last round of my draft. I'm also seeing a LOT of L Johnson in winning teams. He certainly carried me through the playoffs. Thanks, LJ!

Used DD in 1 re-draft league. I won the championship by drafting only one viable RB in SA with the 1.02. Had CJ, Reggie Wayne, Rod Smith, and Eddie Kennison though for WR and gonzo for TE with 1.5ppr for TE. According to DD the WR were more valuable than RB at my draft positions. One thing to note is that alot of the time that I used DD I didnt follow its advice 100%. I was really high on CJ at the beggining of this year and would draft him a little early to get him. Also, DD would advise drafting guys like moss or owens that I wasnt particularly thrilled about. Same with corey dillon. I think you can use DD to create a basic ranking of the players but then you should look at the top 5 that DD recommends, look at the droppoff and then go with your gut feeling on the player. Also order for DD to work, you need to suffer very few injuries or be the benefactor of an injury (larry johnson anyone?). In the leagues I lost, the teams that beat me had LJ stuffed away on their roster waiting for holmes to get injured. When he did, LJ instantly became the #1 RB in the league.
