Cell Phone Help (1) Upgrade How to and (2) Change provider - Advice N (1 Viewer)

Situation......

Family of 4, all with Apple phones with Sprint

1 - 18YO w/ Iphone 5s whose service contract just expired and is going off to college.

2 - 12YO w/ Iphone 4 whose service contract has expired, and needs a new phone (cracked screen)

3 - Wife w/ Iphone 5c whose service contract expires in November

4 - Myself w/ Iphone 4s whose service contract has expired

We have 1500 unlimited anytime shared minutes, all pay $10/month for premium data and wife and older boy have insurance for $11/month.

Total bill $238 month.

Need to figure out if we need to let my wife's contract expire and search for new provider, or if we should just bite the bullet and upgrade my younger son's phone to a Iphone 6 and give that to the older boy who would hand over his phone to the younger and renew with Sprint for another 2 years (been with them for 10+ years)

If we stay with Sprint and do the phone exchange, do we need to go to the sprint store to accomplish, or is that something that we can do at home?

I have no idea if we have a good deal or not..........and BTW we have no land lines.

Any help / comments are appreciated.

Thanks.

For $100/mo you guys can have a boatload of data (10GB) and unlimited talk and text on all phones on sprint (no need to change phones).

How much data are you using collectively per month? For $20/mo more you'll have 40GB of data to burn in instead of 10GB.... pretty much a no brainer with two young kids who likely "forget" to use wifi "periodically".

Older son uses 2.4GB of 3G, 0.2MB of roaming, and 19.2GB of 4G LTE

Younger son uses 1.4GB of 3G and 3.5MB of roaming

Wife uses 0.5GB of 3G, 21 MB of roaming, and 5.4GB of 4G LTE

I use 1.4GB of 3G and 0.5MB of roaming

So I'm guessing that we are over 10GB.

Our standard plan is 110 and we get a 20% employee discount from my wife. Everyone then gets charged for their premium and insurance, but we all of the additional phones get charged $20 as "additional" lines.

Premium data add on charge of $10/phone for unlimited data.
Okay you don't need that crap.

For $120/mo you will get 40GB data, unlimited talk and text for 4 lines. You can pay insurance on top of that if you want, but those are some older phones... prob not worth $10/mo on a $200 phone. Up to you though.
